Teaching material is new and practical. A lot of reading. A lot of projects. Professor Kursh is energetic, responsive to questions. If you engage, work hard you will get an A.FINA6284 2017-02-17 19:21:42 +0000 UTC
What you should expect from a MBA/MS level professor, very tough but doable if you put in the work. No possible way to skate by without doing the readings and being prepared. Likes to call on call on international students to make them speak English more frequently. His excitement for the topic is infectious and hes very personable out class.FINSTRATEGY 2014-06-06 14:12:52 +0000 UTC
A little man, both figuratively and literally. Steve, nobody cares if you drive an Audi, nobody cares. He yells at students, shames them etc, and assumes we are all dumb enough to confuse difficulty of achieving an A with substance of the material(based on the other comments here, apparently that trick works most of the time).FINA6205 2014-05-08 03:40:39 +0000 UTC
Solid communicator, excellent material firm grasp of his field (Wharton Grad, go figure). Phenominal.FINA1 2012-05-30 08:55:40 +0000 UTC
Difficult professor. Be prepared for cold calling and regular presentations. Completing assigned readings is a MUST - understanding the information and having the ability to think on your feet is a MUST. Learned a lot!FIN200 2006-12-21 16:55:11 +0000 UTC
Easily the best class i have taken at NU. Totally take this professor if you are serious about learning and take your classes seriously. He really expects you to know the fundamentals so be prepared to know your sh*t!! Oh and he LOVES to cold call!!FING200 2006-04-06 12:42:25 +0000 UTC
One of the best classes I have taken. Very demanding- but put in the time and you will learn a lot.G205 2005-04-26 07:21:02 +0000 UTC
Tough demanding professor, but a must for finance majorsFIN201 2004-05-08 10:27:07 +0000 UTC
I was terrified of finance and Steve Kursh made me love it. The class and assignments are hard. He expects you to understand finance and not memorize it and he is really good!FINA6284 2015-05-28 16:24:38 +0000 UTC
an alarming and misinformed credulity about science, anecdotes that prove nothing, patently absurd syllogisms, meaningless diagrams and homemade master narrativesFINA6205 2014-05-01 14:04:29 +0000 UTC
Professor Kursh has been my favorite professor in the MBA program so far. He is demanding and tough but is not nasty in his doing so. He does cold call and you have to keep up, but what's the point of taking the class if you aren't? I would reccomend his class but you will be working pretty hard the whole semester!FINA1 2010-03-15 17:48:28 +0000 UTC

Pr.Kursh is by far the best professor I have ever had. Enthusiastic, excellent public speaker, smart and a lot of fun. Learned with him much more than with all other professors together. I would die to take this class again.FINA6205 2013-09-03 15:13:18 +0000 UTC
Very, very tough. Expects you to learn a lot on your own. I was still lost after leaving his class. Need to take time to explain more instead of relying mostly on the bookFING200 2004-12-07 11:10:32 +0000 UTC
Excellent at all levels. Amazing professor, probably the best at Northeastern.FINA6205 2013-05-25 18:27:13 +0000 UTC
