Exams were challenging but if you do the textbook problems (and I mean DO ALL of them) you can get an A. Go up to the board because you will need a good participation grade to get a good grade.ACCT1201 2026-01-02 17:13:38 +0000 UTC
Tony is an amazing professor who somehow found a way to make financial accounting bearable at 8 in the morning. One thing about him is that he will NOT hesitate to cold call you, but you do get to opt out of his calling if you really want to. Attendance isn't mandatory but I HIGHLY recommend you go since his lectures are the funniest in the world.ACCT1209 2024-04-12 00:22:27 +0000 UTC
He's a solid professor with an excellent background in accounting. He knows managerial can be tedious, but he made the class enjoyable with his fun accounting and off-topic stories. He's super reliable and has so many opportunities for office hours, and if you're scared about what's on the tests, just ask him. He's super transparent about it.ACCT2301 2023-12-25 06:42:50 +0000 UTC
Absolutely phenomenal professor. He knows absolutely everything about accounting, explains it very well, and is always open to questions. Class is completely chill, just get your work done and youre fine. Tests are only an issue if youre a slacker because Russo will give you everything you need.ACCT1202 2018-12-16 02:15:45 +0000 UTC
I really enjoyed this class. His grading is very fair. He does expect you to work, but is extremely approachable and with help with any questions. He adds humor and real life experiences to his class. Northeastern needs to hire more professors like him.ACC3410 2018-08-20 18:59:48 +0000 UTC
Great guy. He goes over exactly what is on each exam beforehand, question by question. Offers lots of office hours. Go to them he's very helpful. Accessible over text + email Exams seemed like people either did really well, or did poorly, not much in between. When he asks people to write problems on the board, make sure u study that for the examsACCT1201 2025-12-19 03:43:04 +0000 UTC
He's got amazing accounting skills but no teaching skills whatsoever. Half of class is taken up by his random thoughts which are sometimes offensive and inconsiderate. The other half of class is used for going over slides or textbook problems, which is helpful if you pay attention. Exams are normally just questions straight from the book.ACCT1209 2022-06-16 14:30:28 +0000 UTC
He's a classic old school italian who has a lot of experience in the field, doesn't take crap, and will make the most boring stuff tolerable and even entertaining. I couldn't have taken managerial accounting with another professor.ACCT2301 2023-11-30 05:32:08 +0000 UTC
Love this guy. Honestly one of the most fair professors I've ever had. If you do the work that's required you'll definitely succeed in the class. Taking his class again next semester and I can't wait!ACCT1201 2025-12-16 21:50:25 +0000 UTC
Makes extremely inappropriate comments in class. Doesn't know what's going on with the class in terms of projects or Homework (class would have been impossible without the TAs so shoutout to them). Quizzes are super hard. Don't take a class with him.ACCT1209 2022-04-27 13:26:58 +0000 UTC
Decent teacher and really funny guy. Let him teach tax!ACCT2301 2023-07-02 20:41:27 +0000 UTC
I loved Tony's class so so much, you can tell he cares about his students and is funny and witty when giving his lectures, he even went out of his way to do extra study sessions when we needed it. I highly recommend his lectures if you get to! I haven't gotten the final back yet but I really think he was great!ACCT1201 2025-12-13 01:21:43 +0000 UTC
Tony's a great guy, he cares a lot about his students. He cracks a lot of jokes that some find insensitive, but if you get past it, he's a genuine guy who loves accounting and has a great understanding of the subject. If you pay attention and just do the homework, you'll get an A.ACCT1209 2021-01-25 18:25:04 +0000 UTC
Tony is a great professor. Managerial is a boring class; he understands that, and he manages to make it tolerable with his stories and humour. He is a fair grader and wants everyone to do well.ACCT2301 2023-06-27 12:14:21 +0000 UTC
He can't really explain concepts properly and it was a lot of self study required. He usually just reads off the textbook during his lectures.ACCT1201 2025-12-10 21:32:47 +0000 UTC
