I had to double check that the Professor's name was correct because I couldn't believe the ratings. This class is such a waste of time. Professor Wang is probably too bored to take this class seriously, and it shows. You learn a bunch of outdated tech and buzzwords that won't get you anywhere in the real world. I came to this course with a limited background in programming due to my field. I spent considerable time and effort, and it proved rewarding. The instructor shared all course materials and codes, which was very helpful for learning and review. Wang is a sweet, caring, and funny guy. The class is incredibly boring (for me) and the lectures don't help with that, but that isn't his fault. There is one exam (on paper) and it's exactly like the study guide he provides, along with weekly quizzes based off of the text book and three group projects. Good teacher, but an extremely boring subject. The class feels obsolete. The grading is clear for the most part. He assigns weekly open book quizzes where you can find all the answers in the textbook. All other assignments were manageable. The professor assigns an overwhelming amount of reading, yet only covers a small fraction of it in class. Professor Wang is passionate about the course and very knowledgeable about information systems. His lectures were well organized and he tried to make them exciting. This teacher is super nice and tries to keep class engaged. Lectures are long and kind of boring but he tries to add in videos to switch it up. Info on PowerPoint slides isn't always in the textbook.
