Not a very difficult class with an incredibly enthusiastic and clear professor - best of both worlds. Transparent with test grade averages so we knew 60+ percent got an A- or an A in my section. Not only is he personally great but he was the only "not bad" MISM teacher during my semester too, so you better pray you can get into his section.MISM2301 2020-06-27 02:59:33 +0000 UTC
Hes not the outstanding professor these reviews make him out to be. Hes fine though, an easy B if you do what he says.MISM2301 2020-04-27 17:34:18 +0000 UTC
I really enjoyed this class. The professor is extremely straightforward on assignments and his grading criteria. He explains concepts really well and offers a ton of practice to make sure you understand the material. Overall, a pretty easy class if you do the homework and come to class.MISM2301 2020-04-10 18:34:03 +0000 UTC
Makes lectures engaging and interactive. Participation is factored heavily into your grade, and some important content is covered pretty much only in lectures. Homework is easy and light, and exams are doable if you have good notes and study well. TL;DR: go to class, take good notes, participate, and study well for exams. Great professor.MISM2301 2018-12-14 17:30:12 +0000 UTC
He is patient to teach and discuss. The homework is little but you have to show up almost every lectures to get full attendance grade. The amount of reading in this class is reasonable, not too scary if you are business major.MISM2301 2018-11-01 23:05:27 +0000 UTC
Prof Chen is clearly passionate about MIS and works hard to explain concepts, but he grades hard and has very difficult tests with no opportunity to raise your grade. He does not put slides up on Blackboard until just before the test and doesn't include answers to questions on the slides.MISM2301 2018-04-18 11:01:14 +0000 UTC
Chen is tough, but he's worth it. MIS is not an easy class, but he teaches so well and always makes sure students understand concepts before moving on. Easy to lose points on his exams, but homeworks are very easy, and so is in class participation. He is the BEST mis prof, take him if you can! Took him at 8am, and don't regret it at all. BEST EVER!MISM2301 2017-12-09 18:31:07 +0000 UTC
Professor Chen is the best professor I have so far at Northeastern. He really puts200% effort to care all students and helps everyone succeed. In addition, he is very fair on everything. Participation matter but you will have tons of chances to raise your hand at class. Definitely recommend!!MISM2301 2017-11-10 19:00:54 +0000 UTC
Out of my four years at Northeastern University, this is the professor I respect the most from all that I have taken. His teaching style is actually amazing, and even though I thought I would hate MIS which is why I left this class for my very last semester, I ended up finding the subject interesting just because of this professor.MISM2301 2016-05-21 21:48:40 +0000 UTC
Really like Professor Chen. Fair grader and the class is really what you make out of it. Never thought I would find MIS interesting, but I liked his teaching style, and the random jokes he sometimes slips in. Over-all great professor, very friendly and helpful. No textbook needed - he uploads all the material to Blackboard.MISM2301 2016-04-07 00:25:03 +0000 UTC
He is a good professor, show up at class, read the assignment on blackboard and do your homework, you will be fine.MISM2301 2015-05-03 18:23:33 +0000 UTC
