He is an amazing professor. Despite somewhat heavy lectures overall, you can do it very well with his lecture notes and his discussion. His subjects are also worthwhile to take. Professor Coskun was difficult to work with compared to other professors. If you get stuck with him I would take Thermodynamics later. He shoo's you away to TAs during officehours. You can't be sick and take quizzes/tests at another time or you will get an oral exam which is unfair. awesome class, of course, for engineering majors. i enjoyed it, he was very clear on what he wanted and laid everything out for us so material was relatively easy to learn as long as you just paid attention and showed up. always in a good mood. didnt mind if i played computer games on my downtime. looked forward to class.GEU111 2006-04-06 02:06:53 +0000 UTC

Coskun is a solid choice. There isn't a better option than him so might as well take him. I never attended the lectures and still got a good grade because of the textbook. He prerecords all his lectures so you can take it fully asynchronously if you want. His lectures are very detailed PowerPoints so they are a good reference. Coskun is a knowledgable professor who knows how to break something down step-by-step when explaining it to you. Ask lots of questions and he always has an answer. Thermo is a difficult subject if you don't put time into it, but if you put in the time then Coskun will help you succeed. Coskun is an amazing professor. Thermo is an extremely hard course with difficult concepts and his lectures do a great job of making it understandable. He uses Power Point heavily in lectures, but that is actually very helpful because you can easily see the correct equations without trying to understand handwriting.
