I don't know about the other cornerstone profs, but I feel confident in saying that Prof. Hertz is definitely one of the best. He cultivated a relaxed classroom environment while still covering everything. He was always willing to help with any questions about assignments or projects. It would be hard not to get an A as long as you put in effort.GE1502 2025-06-20 16:04:13 +0000 UTC
I was initially worried about the class as I didn't know anything about coding, But Professor Hertz did an amazing job teaching the language (C++ and MatLab). What I will say is if you don't know the language, DON'T miss a class, you will be behind.GE1111 2025-05-07 23:35:45 +0000 UTC
Taking this class with Hertz made me fall in love with engineering from the group projects to the engineering curriculum like decision making, coding, AutoCAD, etc. I absolutely loved this class. I even enjoyed doing the homework assignments. Classes are super fun and have a laid back atmosphere while still getting curriculum done.GE1501 2025-04-29 05:12:55 +0000 UTC
Very enthusiastic, strongly encourages group work and promotes a friendly classroom dynamic.CORNERSTONE 2024-08-26 18:31:23 +0000 UTC
Prof. Hertz was my favorite teacher this year. Not only did I actually enjoy his class, but he really cares about his students learning and it shows. I am super pumped he is teaching my class next semester as well. I wasn't really into engineering yet and I had no experience with coding or any design software he was great teaching it!GE1110 2015-11-19 05:34:18 +0000 UTC
Professor Hertz is an incredible professor, who puts in the extra work to care for students. He goes above and beyond to plan unique experiences and projects to facilitate learning. The grading can be challenging, as a 95 is required for an A and the homework can be easy to loose points on. He knew how to cultivate an engineering community.GE1502 2025-05-13 01:13:59 +0000 UTC
Great dude, great class, great curriculum. Hertz was very nice and a fun guy. His class was super interesting and very chill. Weekly hw assignments, straight forward quizzes and tests, and a final project.GE1111 2024-12-15 02:58:36 +0000 UTC
Awesome course and a passionate instructor.GE1501 2024-10-30 14:00:29 +0000 UTC
A great professor and an even better guy. Extremely caring and organized - every single assignment is planned out to a tee. I feel like I learned a lot more in Cornerstone than a lot of my friends in this department who had other professors.CORNERSTONE 2023-12-13 04:04:19 +0000 UTC
Two years later, I still use Professor Hertz as my standard for professors at Northeastern University. He is a pioneer in education and treats you as an equal. He doesn't just teach, he gives you the confidence you need to bring your own ideas to life. Glad to see that other students are having as great an experience as I did.GE1502 2018-09-03 22:29:41 +0000 UTC
Super funny. Very efficient with time, easy grader. And all but gives you answers for quizzes before them. HIGHLY suggest. HW once a week takes about 2 hours and no final, just a group project. Easy to reach at office hours, and very caring.GE1111 2024-12-04 15:51:59 +0000 UTC
Professor Hertz is awesome! He is super enthusiastic about the material and the projects. Everyone I talk to absolutely loves him. I learned a ton in his course and the course-load was fast-paced but manageable. He even helped me outside of class with a side project I was working on with the skills I learned in the class.GE1501 2024-01-08 01:39:11 +0000 UTC
