His homework assignments have confusing instructions. when he asks students for feedback, and they give it, he gets mad and says they are wrong. There's also so much work every week, and he doesn't make it very clear when stuffs assigned. He's organizationally a mess. You never know what's due or when, or how what you're doing connects to the curriculum. He focuses primarily on mechE projects in a general engineering course. Don't choose him. The amount of work in his class compared to the other sections for cornerstone, especially stacked cornerstone is absurd. Want to write about 20 pages each week in addition to 3-4 hours of assignments for just this course a day then choose him. Mukasa himself is a great person, however his class is a LOT. I took full cornerstone with 1501/1502 combined and struggled through the semester. Prepare to do a lot of homework of all different types. You will learn a lot, but maybe at the cost of your sanity.GE1501 2025-12-17 16:18:25 +0000 UTC
Had him for stacked cornerstone, way too much homework. The kids with other professors for stacked cornerstone weren't nearly as overwhelmed as we were. Workload heavy, but overall manageable. I took stacked cornerstone. The flipped classroom was pretty annoying (a lot of extra hw that you have to learn from). A LOT of groupwork (at minimum weekly memos). i had no experience going in, now i know autocad and solidworks decently. I had him for Stacked Cornerstone and his class was fast-paced and software-heavy, but he is genuinely one of the most caring and accommodating professors I've ever had. Mukasa is a great professor, but his section specifically has much more work than other sections. I would say if you want to go above and beyond and learn skills that could help you a lot in your personal engineering pursuits, then take him. I highly recommend that you take this course with another Prof. It is unnecessarily difficult and work-heavy in comparison to the other courses and teachers.
