Amazing professor, taught me how to think and write in really cool waysPHIL-2303 2026-09-15 02:18:56 +0000 UTC
Alec Stubbs is one of those professors everyone adores. The effort he put into planning this course is extremely clear, and his passion for teaching makes it impossible to not want to give your all. He is very encouraging, and the amount of growth I saw from all my peers in this class was amazing. Take him, there is truly no one like Alec.PHIL-3343 2026-06-17 19:51:00 +0000 UTC
He's one of those professor's that you get only once in your life. The course is not really hard, just kind of demanding (reading) but there's really no wrong answers, and he makes that very clear. He just wants the best for his students, to push your proficiency in thinking. I will remember Stubbs forever.PHIL-1145 2026-04-27 20:39:42 +0000 UTC
Very kind professor who cares about all of the students and wants them to succeed. Classes are engaging with various discussions throughout the period. As long as you show up to class and put in the effort you'll most likely do well and enjoy the class.PHIL-1160 2025-12-12 07:12:15 +0000 UTC
He was one of the best professors I've ever had. He cares so much for all his students and dedicates so much of his time students in general.PHIL2303 2025-05-15 02:09:23 +0000 UTC
Alec is THE best professor I've had (I've taken three of his classes). He cares so much about each and every student and builds such a thought-provoking and important curriculum. Class involves heavy dialogue, and the debates we have four times a semester are so much fun. There's a reading for every class, and they're always interesting.PHIL-2303 2026-04-27 04:28:38 +0000 UTC
Alec is the best prof ever; I've taken three of his classes. Existentialism is especially amazing, because he's so down to earth. The readings he chooses are long and difficult, but SO INCREDIBLY WORTH IT. If you put in the work for this class, you will leave with an entirely new understanding of how to live your life and the world around you.PHIL-3343 2026-04-27 04:08:25 +0000 UTC
Genuinely one of the best professors I have ever had. The course itself was pretty easy mostly because he does not really agree with the traditional grading system and if you participate and at least try you will probably do well. There's no real right or wrong answer (its philosophy) you just have to show you put thought into things.PHIL-1145 2025-04-18 17:09:05 +0000 UTC
Although I'm only a freshman, Alec is the best professor I think I'll ever have. He cares so much about his students as people and as learners. His pedagogy is not only informative, but also makes us better thinkers, students, & people. His class is not difficult. There's moderate reading and participation will help you grow in this class.PHIL-1160 2025-12-04 17:59:06 +0000 UTC
If you want a class where the outside-of-class work is extremely relevant to the in class discussion, the teacher puts in as much if not more effort than the students, the students often speak more in class than the teacher and there's a strong sense of community, take Alec's class. Alec Stubbs is one of a kind and will positively change your life.PHIL2303 2025-04-16 00:34:18 +0000 UTC
This is the best professor you will ever have, the class is engaging and fun. The debates are super interesting but the best part is definitely Alec Stubbs. Take his classes! He is so engaging, clearly cares about his students, cares about your learning, wants you to succeed, and is invested in making a relationship with every student.PHIL-2303 2026-04-13 20:29:46 +0000 UTC
Amazing person and professor, can put together a course curriculum that will get you thinking differently even after the class is over. Don't think I'll ever have another professor more personally engaged. Everyone loves him, and for good reason. Guy in my class saw him in a DMT breakthrough saying "You finally understand!" or something like that.PHIL-3343 2026-04-09 19:36:54 +0000 UTC
An amazing teacher that's passionate about making sure his students get something out of his class. True dedication and insightful readings for every class. Is reasonable with his expectations (especially during finals week) and is willing to work with you if you're struggling with homework. Thank you for your work Alec!!PHIL-1160 2025-12-04 06:18:29 +0000 UTC
Alec is amzing - take his class if you can. He cares very much about his students and teaching. Go to his office sometime - hes great to chat to.There is one big debate, an argument reconstructionand a final oral conversation. The weekly reading can be much if you fall behind. All in all, as long as you try you will do great.PHIL2303 2025-04-15 22:55:44 +0000 UTC
I usually never write this, but Alec is someone who is deserving of this rating. He is THE best instructor I've had so far. He is extremely caring, funny, and just an overall great professor. His classes are always interesting, filled with great dialogue between students.PHIL-2303 2026-04-13 20:25:34 +0000 UTC
