Make sure you study the book well and take the practice quizzes online from the book. She picks obscure facts from the books and puts them on the tests. The class appears to be easy but the tests are unproportionately difficult when compared with the subject matter and the class.PSYC3402 2010-01-11 23:16:49 +0000 UTC
taught right out of the book, assigned tedious take home quizzes and make up assignments that ended up taking students a minimum of 4 hours to complete. for such an intelligent woman with great career experience and stories to share, i was very disappointed.ABNORPSYC 2009-12-22 02:12:05 +0000 UTC
Do not take any of her classes. She doesn't get grades back to you nor do your grades reflect your actual knowledge. Tests are ridiculous and require the memorization of random statistics, she also gives no type of study guide. She seems like a nice person but that doesn't really make you feel better as you see your gpa plummeting before your eyes.PSYC3406 2009-12-10 11:33:42 +0000 UTC
Entered Abnormal Psych with enthusiasm. Most ineffective professor Ive ever had. Class time is a waste. Puts little thought into assignments. What is required for quizzes is inconsistent with syllabus. Assigns lots of busy work but doesnt adequately cover what is on tests. Material on test is from reading, not class, which makes no sense to me.PSY3402 2009-12-06 15:56:21 +0000 UTC
Agreed. Lazy professor, more interested in wanting herself to do well/look well to her students.PSY3406 2009-11-13 11:13:25 +0000 UTC
Last day of class is tomorrow and I'm missing grades she hasn't submitted to blackboard so I don't even know where I stand in the class. Don't bother e-mailing her because its as good as banging your head on the wall aka you get nowhere but older. Good luck taking the class.PSYU404 2009-04-13 21:08:45 +0000 UTC
She does want her students to do well, but she can't balance her private life and professional life. Which unfortunately means she will just make notes of EVERYTHING in the book and give them to you and then quiz you on them. My advice is good luck to anyone who takes her class. Or try and take the class with another (better) prof.PSY404 2009-02-05 16:23:28 +0000 UTC
Had her for Dev and Social Psychology. She's very nice and enthusiastic; one of my favorite professors. She's still writing the curriculum so it's not perfect yet. She asks you to critically analyze research and topics, so she's not as easy as other professors. I thoroughly enjoyed her classes.PSY402 2008-12-18 16:50:40 +0000 UTC
reminds me of a 3rd grade girl at summer camp. cute little girl in a womens body. very nice lady, and wants everyone to do well. doesnt try to trick you but wants you to know your material. not an easy class but if you do the work you can do well. i never really tried that hard outside of class but some things in class i found interestingPSYU402 2008-12-01 17:12:09 +0000 UTC
The most irksome attribute of her is the arbitrary way in which she treats her class. She cancels class frequently and with little warning, does not effectively convey assignments and their importance in the overall scheme of the class, and does not regard her syllabus in the slightest. She made the class as bad of an experience as it could be.PSYC3402 2009-12-07 17:16:52 +0000 UTC
Teaching right out of the book, not answering email, making up BS assignments, and missing tons of classes? I really think a student could have taught this class better.ABNORPSYC 2009-12-20 14:46:38 +0000 UTC
I'm gonna have to disagree with the whole "wants her students to do well" thing. The 1st test was straight from the online quiz, the 2nd changed just enough to confuse or trick people. Definitiely gonna damage my GPA.PSY3406 2009-11-13 10:55:11 +0000 UTC
WORST TEACHER IVE EVER HAD IN LIFE. and I got a B+ in the class. I don't care if shes easy or a nice person. I pay $40,000 for good education...and I taught myself in this class. On the last day of class she said that if she was a student, she would have withdrew...REALLY? regardless of personal problems, you need to be a professional and step it uPSYU404 2009-01-30 18:00:05 +0000 UTC
Teacher tought straight out of the book. The only reason to attend was for in-class assignments. She eventualy makeher lecture useless by not going over the power points she made but by brainstorming useless information with the class. Don't take her class unless you can't avoid it.PSY404 2009-01-11 13:45:37 +0000 UTC
She definitely means well and wants her students to do well. Class time is not very useful. Tests are hard but when you put in effort there is potential to do well. Does not grade quickly and takes a long time to get back to you.PSY402 2008-11-18 23:38:08 +0000 UTC
