Talks a lot about current events, which is a good time waster. Likes to name drop, but it just gets humorous after awhile. She's very friendly with students and really does know a lot about the industry. Teaches very well and is really nice.MUSI1231 2010-04-15 17:53:55 +0000 UTC
I don't agree with the majority here. She was super informative, helpful, and a real sweetheart. She went out of her way to help me out in the industry. For that she gains my love and respect.MUSI1 2009-06-21 23:49:16 +0000 UTC
i had her last semester and she was basically the thorn of my semester. she's kind of like the mean middle school teacher everybody hated. her class is not enjoyable by any means and i didn't learn a thing i couldn't have learned by sitting down and reading the book for like an hour. she also holds grudges.MUSU231 2009-04-07 12:06:00 +0000 UTC
Lawrence was very boring and I didn't learn much from the class at all. Usually ended up wasting half the class with current events chat. She worked at a record label once and likes to mention that a lot. Not much teaching, lots of browsing web sites and videos.MUS231 2008-04-29 16:00:39 +0000 UTC
DO NOT TAKE MUSIC INDUSTRY WITH LAWRENCE. PERIOD.MUS230 2007-12-10 20:59:12 +0000 UTC
Without a doubt the worst teacher I've ever had in all my years of schooling. How this woman got a teaching job (or any paid employment) is beyond me. Sitting in this class made me feel guilty that my parents were actually spending their money on this. Did you know she worked at TVT records? She should mention that more in class.INDUSTRY2 2006-05-16 13:49:28 +0000 UTC
name dropper. not a good teacher. "i worked at tvt records" yeah good for you. i just hated her.MUSICINDUSTRY 2005-10-06 09:56:51 +0000 UTC
I feel bad that eva thinks she's *still* a hot shot in the business. tells lots of stories about herself, her career, very boring class. take Prof. Strasser instead, i took him for music industry 2 and it was SO much betterMUSICINDS 2005-07-21 08:33:38 +0000 UTC
She's really nice and knows what she's talking about, but perhaps not the best at actually TEACHING it to others. She lets you know what's on the final a few days before so that helps and it's easy enough, as well as her projects. Perhaps not the most engaging class but still fun.MUSICINDUSTRY2 2005-03-27 18:58:14 +0000 UTC
Not good if you want to learn computer programs you don't already know how to use(ie.ms-word)Projects are vague without clear explanation of conceptsShe'll try to help you,but sometimes it's hard to get beyond the condescending attitude&name dropping every.005seconds.I think she misses the industry.COMPAPPS 2004-12-12 17:20:24 +0000 UTC
The class was straightforward and easy...she tells you directly what will be on the midterm and final but overall it is very boring.INDUSTRY1 2004-12-10 16:27:16 +0000 UTC
She's a nice and helpful professor, especially with scheduling and stupid NU paperwork crap. I think she's still getting used to how to add entertaining things into class and still make them relevant. SHe'll get better I'm sure... as long as she stops saying "When I was at TVT..." everyday.MUSICIND1 2004-12-05 11:54:34 +0000 UTC
Has a good attitude and a high tolerance for people not understanding every step of the projects. She is willing to explain the steps numerous times and is very helpful.COMAPPSMUSIC 2004-12-02 08:29:06 +0000 UTC
prof. lawrence is a great professor. she is always there if you need answers and will work her hardest to help find you a co-op come dec.2nd and you still have no job.MUSICINDUSTY 2004-12-02 08:23:39 +0000 UTC
