Great professor, and even better grader. I went into this class with no prior philosophy knowledge and he took time to clarify and help me out. As long as you say something during class conversations you'll be fine (25% participation). Professor Connors is very passionate about teaching philosophy. I found his class to be enjoyable and not difficult. It is very philosophy and reading heavy and I would not recommend taking this class if you know you will not be interested in the content, but you can get a lot out of it if you fully engage and do the homework- watch the videos too!PHIL2330 2024-04-15 14:45:00 +0000 UTC
Prof Connors knows a lot about what he teaches. Many students in my class did not participate, and it is definitely more enjoyable if you/other people do. There are few assignments. Professor Connors is very knowledgeable about what he teaches. This class is very confusing if you have no background knowledge about philosophy. You have to be good at reading complex texts, but Dr. Connors has helpful informational videos that make the readings much more easily understandable. Prof doesn't do a great job of explaining material or relating it to current society. Very strict rules, but will be flexible if you have something going on. Professor Connors is clearly passionate about philosophy however he is not great at teaching it. He often seems unable to answer students' questions about what a specific philosopher means.
