Best professor ive ever had, his class is so interesting and important to the real world. He gives you answers to the tests in class, if you go to class youll be fine, I ended with a 99. Long lectures but very interesting and informative.1246 2026-01-08 21:00:32 +0000 UTC
Professor Faber is very knowledgeable about the environmental movement, and has a lot to say about everything. He is good at explaining topics, but has a tendency to spend half of class going off tangents. Additionally, the Canvas page was very unorganized and he doesn't respond to emails. The self paced aspect of the class is nice though.SOCL4522 2025-11-26 03:00:46 +0000 UTC
Faber is knowledgeable and passionate about his course material and I learned a lot in his class. Attendance is optional but sometimes he explicitly gives you answers to exam questions in lectures, so I recommend showing up. There are homework readings which he doesn't check for completion, but you do have to cite them when writing papers.1246 2025-04-28 01:59:20 +0000 UTC
Professor Faber is hands down my favorite professor yet. He truly cares about the topics discussed in class and knows how to integrate real-world pieces into his lectures. Although attendance wasn't necessary, I actually enjoyed going to class. I had to take this for an NU path requirement and wasn't sure at first, but it was the best decision.1246 2025-04-15 22:41:19 +0000 UTC
I feel like no matter what you're studying you should take his class, even if it's for an NU Path I think you can get a lot out of this class. It definitely changes the way you see things about sociology and environmental science if you weren't already aware of what's really going on. 2 tests, 2 papers, go to every class and you will do just fine!1246 2025-04-02 12:58:01 +0000 UTC
"I give students the opportunity to get a better grade" Sorta what he said. He grades his written papers very leniently. If you're not used to lecture hall style classes it can be hard. Part of the hw is watching films. Easy to talk to and knows a lot about what he does, so much so that he's essentially memorised the slides1246 2023-11-14 19:45:03 +0000 UTC
Professor Daniel Faber is very passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the topic of environmental sociology. I loved his class because the content was so applicable to every part of my life, and without being too challenging I learned a lot. His course is reading-heavy but they were manageable. I recommend him as a professor!1246 2023-09-20 15:51:24 +0000 UTC
