I liked his teaching approach. He's organized and knows his stuff. He's passionate about sociology and seems to enjoy teaching. He provides good study guides to prepare for tests and the tests are multiple choice. He offered an optional final exam which was essay and a chance to improve your grade.SOCL1101 2026-05-08 20:24:39 +0000 UTC
This class was mostly lecture, but the prof is prepared and knows his stuff. He posts slides after each class which helps with studying for tests. Most of the grade is based on tests and quizzes but the prof give a study guide before each test. You have to attend class to be ready for tests.SOCL1235 2026-05-04 13:26:30 +0000 UTC
All you need to do is attend class, take notes, and ask questions if you are confused. Prof Hunt is a very straightforward lecturer but he cares about his students and the topics he teachesSOCL2321 2025-04-30 17:07:31 +0000 UTC
Completely lecture based with no homework only graded on 3 exams and one extra credit paper (SOCL1101)SOCLSOCL 2024-04-29 21:59:38 +0000 UTC
Prof. Hunt is a good, fair teacher. Some find him on the boring side but I felt that his explainations for certain concepts was refreshing.SOCSTATS 2006-04-19 20:09:49 +0000 UTC
I find him to be a nice guy. He can be a bit on the dry side, but he makes an effort to get to know your name, grades fairly, and is excellent at explaining things. Very good professor, in my opinion.SOCU320 2003-11-13 19:30:33 +0000 UTC
Grade is mostly based on tests but he is up front about that. If you go to class and use the study guides he provides before exams you will be prepared. The class was a good overview of a field I've been curious about for a while. Interesting lecturer especially the polling and real world data usesSOCL1101 2026-04-29 20:03:10 +0000 UTC
I took this class as an elective and am glad I did! Dr Hunt is organized and gives good power point lectures (and he posts the slides). I would take another one of his classes..SOCL1235 2026-04-29 19:57:06 +0000 UTC
Taken all three classes he offers. Straightforward and teaches right from the textbook, but that can make the mandatory attendance feel a little redundant if you read. Unfortunately cursed with an extremely flat tone but you learn to pick up on his passion. Exams are largely predictable but have one or two random questions on minor sidenotes.SOCL2321 2025-04-14 16:51:30 +0000 UTC
Hunt gives good powerpoint lectures- he knows how to sum things up and present them in an organized manner. However once he switches to class discussions class feels disruptive, and doing so unhelpful for learning. He should just stick to lecturing with powerpoints. Too much assigned reading by the way.SOCLSOCL 2013-01-12 21:53:08 +0000 UTC
Lectures are sooooo boring and you are forced to come to class because he will literally ask the most specific questions ever such as "what did I say in this about blah blah blah"SOCL1101 2026-04-23 04:02:59 +0000 UTC
Prof. Hunt, although sometimes a little monotone, is clearly passionate about the subject. His lectures are very organized and easy to follow. If you need to take an intro to sociology class, he's a great option.SOCL1235 2023-11-17 19:33:05 +0000 UTC
Grade is based on two exams and nine homework assignments. Professor Hunt is very knowledgeable and seems to care about his students.SOCL2321 2025-03-05 19:35:16 +0000 UTC
He makes exams worth 75% of your grade and his exams are soooo specific. Don't take this class if you think it'll be easySOCL1101 2026-04-18 23:15:26 +0000 UTC
For social psychology, there is no homework. The grade is based solely on three tests which is a little intimidating but it's an easy course if you look over the study guides he provides. You learn a lot in the class and it really makes you think/curious. I declared a minor in sociology because of it. Hunt is a good professor and would recommendSOCL1235 2022-04-23 15:19:44 +0000 UTC
