O, my. Khalil makes the topic interesting with his Afro-twist on sociology and anthropology, as his background includes Rasta and hip-hop (you'll learn the etymology of that term). His disdain for the dregs of the university system makes him relatable. I was really excited aboout taking this class but I ended up bored. He would be a great teacher in a group of eclectic students. My class was full of kids who'd grown up in a middle class suburbia who all seemed to think alike. This is one of the best classes I've take at NU and he does a great job teaching it. If you like writing papers/are good at it, this class is perfect for you otherwise I'd advise not taking it.
