I wish he was more organized. Grading and assignment criteria are not clear at all. Can be condescending when he believes he is right (which he always does) by constantly interrupting students. If you want an organized class this is not it.MUSICINDUSTRY 2024-01-23 18:10:42 +0000 UTC
Had Professor Herlihy for Artist Management and Copyright. He is an incredibly awesome person outside of class BUT as a professor he is boring, unorganized, and EXTREMELY lecture heavy. He will talk at you for 2 hours straight every class. Lots of reading (you don't necessarily have to do all of it though) and take home exams (2 midterms, 1 final).MUSI3332 2023-12-18 03:58:46 +0000 UTC
Herlihy is very nice and approachable, but his class is very disorganized. Not super hard to do well, but lectures run long and we were behind the syllabus schedule after like one week of classes. Also hard to keep track of assignments on canvas. Good for intro to industry, but not the bestMUSI1230 2023-12-06 17:24:54 +0000 UTC
He's a super nice guy, and even though the lectures can run pretty long, they were super interesting and really got me excited to come to class. Attendance is mandatory, but he allowed online attendance as long as you submitted a one page reflection for the class. Sometimes the class is a little confusing, but the professor is pretty approachable.COPYRIGHT 2022-12-16 16:00:16 +0000 UTC
If you want to work in the music industry this is the class you need to take! he has so much information and brings it all together for class.MUS335 2019-05-01 01:27:35 +0000 UTC
David Herlihy is a sweet man and he tries his hardest but all of his courses are the same, they are unorganized and thrown together last minute. He emails us the night before class asking for large assignments that seem to just pop into his head. The content does not flow, the classes are not engaging.MUSU335 2016-11-16 01:24:02 +0000 UTC
He's very knowledgeable, but he can't convey his ideas or what he wants us to take away from his lectures at all. He does not use class time efficiently whatsoever and we were tested on things that were rarely mentioned in class. He also was away on a business trip for an important part of our semester long project. He wasn't an active teacher.MUSI3333 2015-12-11 23:37:30 +0000 UTC
Definitely a nice guy with a passion for copyright law because he really knows his stuff. 3 open book/note tests online and 1 online take home final which aren't even too hard if you pay attention in class at least 80% of the time. No need to do the readings either, but they will help.MUSICLAW 2009-11-18 19:54:59 +0000 UTC

He really knows his stuff. Very interesting classes.MUSICINDUSTRY 2005-10-06 12:39:55 +0000 UTC
He has a lot of experience in the music industry and means well, but his class is unorganized and not conducive to learning. His 15 question online "quizzes" take hours to complete, he'll send emails about new assignments the night before he wants them submitted, and he gets extremely sidetracked during lectures. A nice guy, not the best professor.MUSI3332 2017-04-14 17:14:00 +0000 UTC
Sometimes the class could feel long because the professor would go a long time lecturing, but the lectures were fairly easy to understand. The canvas and syllabus for this course was a bit disoorganized, so at times it was hard to know what was due. However, he would tell us what was due in class as well as send announcements via canvas/email.MUSI1230 2022-12-16 15:59:49 +0000 UTC
I like this guy as a person but man oh man are his lectures long. Talks to hear himself speak- even in personal meetings. If you can get past how much he speaks in a 1950s radio announcer accent, the content of this class was super interesting and he's respected in this field. Despite the lectures, I want to do copyright law for a living now.COPYRIGHT 2022-05-02 23:20:23 +0000 UTC
very organized and current material, take this class if you can!MUS335 2019-05-01 01:24:28 +0000 UTC
Dave's a nice guy hard to follow in taking notes...Knows whats hes talking about but doesn't always convey it in the most efficient method...I wish I kept count of how many time he said "in gemral" instead of general. The quizzes are a little much to do on a computer and I acutally wished they were more traditional in setting and length.MUSU335 2008-12-08 17:41:12 +0000 UTC
