Prof. Bucar is excellent at teaching this class. This class is an easy A, just do your work on time. Theres lots of discussion posts and essays but could all be completed within a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend this class if you are taking for credit or NUpath. Put effort into this class, work should only take about 1-2 hours weekly!1271 2025-04-14 00:30:02 +0000 UTC
Professor Bucar is incredibly passionate and really makes you think. Her class relies on participation and so as a result her class can be disorganized at moments. She is incredibly caring and I would highly reccomend the class. She is brilliant!RELS1271 2017-11-03 11:12:37 +0000 UTC
Took her 'Selling Spirituality' class in Fall 2024 and it was great. flipped classroom, so did all the readings at home and the discussion and work in class. LOTS OF READING. but as long as you submit your notes and actually do the readings and go to class, and don't use ChatGPT for any assignments, you will do fine. Easy A. Would take again.1271 2024-12-10 00:35:49 +0000 UTC
I loved this class, it was a flipped classroom and you have to do the reading before each class but as long as you do those things you'll do well. Didn't think it was a difficult class, but I also genuinely enjoyed the topic and found the readings interesting. The readings are long, the tests are straightforward and there is a final project/paper.RELS1271 2016-03-30 15:29:39 +0000 UTC
She is an amazing professor, the class discussions are so eye opening and although the readings can be long and dense it is worth it. Put effort into the large assignments as she has fairly high standards for those and don't blow off the small assignments, they pad your grade.1271 2024-03-18 17:35:25 +0000 UTC
Participation is really important, so you should talk every class. Easy to pass but hard to do well. Interesting but only learn a topic from one specific author so you don't learn as much as you could. And don't yawn...RELS1271 2015-05-03 15:49:47 +0000 UTC
PHIL1271 (online): Readings were eye-opening and she's very passionate abt the material which makes the course super interesting. As far as grading goes: do readings + watch lectures and you'll be fine. Graded on discussion boards, 6 open-ended weekly reflections (~300 words), and 2 major essays: an Op-Ed and the final. Highly recommended.1271 2022-06-28 20:31:45 +0000 UTC
Class description on banner does not match the reality of the class. All you do is read and discuss. Bucar is short tempered with students and made me feel unwelcomed during office hours.1271 2015-07-06 11:35:41 +0000 UTC
Sends email to class saying it is "dangerous" to post reviews here. beware.1271 2015-05-03 23:48:11 +0000 UTC
topic is interesting but it is strictly a reading analysis class. would've liked to hear her opinions. guest lecturer was the best part.1271 2015-05-01 01:22:46 +0000 UTC
