This is a hard class. She is very very intense, and if you mess up she will yell at you. You do learn important things in this class, though, and the key to getting on her good side is to get over your crippling terror for like 2 minutes a class and talk to her like a person. I made a RMP account just to say she was awful. She created a toxic class environment. It was a 1 credit course and I spent days and hours stressing over her assignments. She made students feel dumb and incompetent, and was unsupportive and cruel at times. Often Disrespectful. Behaves in a condescending manner which discourages students from pursuing further experience in wet lab. Went out of her way to try and have me removed from a course I was registered for because she believed I did not have enough experience to take it. I really liked the content of the class. It's a lot of work, but she's an easy grader if you follow her rubric. But she has the worst personality. She's condensing and rude. She will teach you, but her personality makes the class so much worse. This is a one credit class but by far the largest workload of any of my classes. Professor Markewich is rude to students, does not teach us the content required to complete the lab reports, and is not willing to work with students at all if situations arise and deadlines need to be extended. Disrespectful to students. Makes everything more complicated. Not clear. Unnecessary grading difficulty for a one credit course. Too serious. Annoying. Doesnt care about students learning. Least sympathetic prof ive ever had, especially during the pandemic. Frequently made grading errors and posted incorrect information on canvas. Quizzes are impossible to prepare for. Absurd workload for a 1 credit lab course.
