Focuses on teaching practical skills rather then on grades making the class engaging for me. lectures were always fun and interactive. So many extra credit opportunities and he is very approachable when someone reaches out. This class genuinely motivated me to take more cybersecurity courses.CY2550 2025-12-20 03:17:33 +0000 UTC
Engagingly teaches cybersecurity fundamentals through lectures and group activities. He's also one of the funniest teachers I've had. He tries to make the homework as interesting and enjoyable as possible and offers many extra credit opportunities.CY2550 2025-12-15 20:35:59 +0000 UTC
I'm actually in the online section of this course (different prof), but he interacts with remote & in-person students so much that he might as well be the prof for both (also the online class uses mostly his lecture materials anyways). He's funny and there is a lot of EC that can be earned in the class. Justin hate is not tolerated!!CY2550 2025-12-14 22:45:03 +0000 UTC
learning cybersecurity from justin was a lot of fun. he provides a ton of extra credit opportunities, so if you have any interest in the subject you will do very well in his class. great professor!CY2550 2025-12-14 02:06:48 +0000 UTC
Assignments can sometimes be hard but a lot of extra credit opportunities and extremely helpful and constantly online TAs. Justin's also really helpful and easy to reach out to. Generally not too hard a course though.CY2550 2025-12-13 02:55:59 +0000 UTC
Justin is a great professor! I enjoyed this class, and although the assignments can sometimes be challenging, there is a lot of support outside of class. Highly recommend!CY2550 2025-12-13 00:05:09 +0000 UTC
Chill professor that tries to make class fun and interactive. Final and midterm can be a little hard but projects are interesting and can make up for it. There are also extra credit opportunities and is a nice guy. Him and his TAs are also very accessible through discord.CY2550 2025-12-12 22:58:42 +0000 UTC
Justin is a great professor who teaches a poorly made class. In regards to Justin, I would gladly take a class with him again. I have never wanted to engage in material more than when I can feel a connection to the professor, with Justin, he is cool guy who has fun while teaching, I literally played Valorant with him, he is a great guy and fun profCY2550 2025-12-12 22:45:53 +0000 UTC
Not an easy class per se, but you do end up learning a decent amount about the basics of cybersecurity and how to apply its principles. A fair amount of homework, but it's at least comparatively fun and does a lot to demonstrate the principles shown in lecture. Also Justin's such a troll he put a rick roll link in our final LMAOOOCY2550 2025-12-12 22:19:37 +0000 UTC
He might seem good at the beginning but …. Make sure you read the syllabus before the drop without WCY2550 2025-12-11 22:33:08 +0000 UTC
Future students be aware!! This course requires you to spend extra money to buy homework questions! I don't get how this professor's rating is still over 3, very lame if not disappointing professor. Be ready to get madCY2550 2025-12-11 10:57:53 +0000 UTC
Never seen a professor worse than this one. Low professionality, low empathy.CY2550 2025-12-10 14:35:14 +0000 UTC
These reviews man. Some of you seem too dense to realize that just because you don't enjoy the class doesn't mean no one else does. Justin "gaming RMP"? Yeah right. Last reviewer even mentions no coding💀 Yeah because it's a CY course. If you guys can't just come to class or follow the instructions or do the EC (3+% so far), that's on you, not him.CY2550 2025-11-22 16:12:44 +0000 UTC
Have learned nothing about cybersecurity, his lectures are so useless. All I;ve learned this semester is irrelevant history of some ciphers. No coding, and he is extremely unreasonable with expectations and does not provide relevant material in class to succeed in assignments. Picks favorites. Learned absolutely nothing. do not recomend.CY2550 2025-11-20 20:21:40 +0000 UTC
Definitely the worst professor I have taken at my time at Northeastern. Funny to see that he is leaving himself reviews on rmp to try to improve it 💀. Completely unreasonable, trolls the class for no reason (eg: said he prepared a note sheet for the exam and then linked it to a rick roll). Opened up a project worth like 6% due same night. Worst.CY2550 2025-11-20 20:19:00 +0000 UTC
