Extremely frustrating course. Weekly assignments were excessively long and felt like busywork rather than teaching concepts. Instructions from TAs and the professor contradicted each other, issues were brushed off, grading was delayed for weeks, and problems took months to resolve. Unacceptable for a $7k+ course and led me to transfer out.CY5200 2026-01-06 18:21:05 +0000 UTC
These were incredibly frustrating classes. Content-wise, they are two of the best classes I've ever taken. However, as a course, they is miserable. The course material obviously hasn't been updated since 2014, assignments are impossibly vague and graded on opaque, seemingly random criteria, and 80% of the work required is only for 10% of the grade.CY5200CY5150 2021-11-16 20:40:50 +0000 UTC
The course is meant to familiarize you with cybersecurity and it does a good job at that. The lab assignments have been changed after I took the class and have become more interesting and require some technical know-how. You have to attend every alternate class in order to get points for presentation. Good class for subjective discussion of topicsIA5100 2018-06-26 01:14:35 +0000 UTC
Course CY5250: One of the worst professor I have taken in my life. He does not teach the materials. He basically gives the assignments and that's it. Expect a 3 Hour exam with no study materials. All assignments are 10% meanwhile each exam is 30% meaning you will fail even if you have 100% in your assignments if you tanked an exam. DO NOT TAKE!!!!!CY5200 2024-02-24 16:58:36 +0000 UTC
Cyber risk management is an important topic. This course provided some important content mixed with so much irrelevant content that it was nearly useless. Assignments involved endless hours of repetitive busy work. Too busy cutting/pasting to learn important topics. Extremely frustrating. The professor was unhelpful and condescending 1 on 1.CY5200 2022-12-19 21:51:04 +0000 UTC
Very good teacher, project heavy, but overall not too bad of a class.CY5200 2020-02-19 19:57:25 +0000 UTC
