Do yourself a big favor if you love yourself. Don't take her. Very disorganized person in general, she doesn't know how to use technology, and despite the fact she knows her subject, she doesn't communicate effectively. She is not as bad as everyone is saying imo, it is just a difficult class. She is a good teacher however and I think attending class and going to office hours will benefit you. Dr. Berent offers a very interesting course. Linguistics is a challenging subject and she did a great job of conveying the information in a more simplistic way. You must attend lectures! I would not recommend taking this course if you are not interested in the areas of linguistics or psychology. She's really not as bad as people think. If you show up to class and pay attention you'll be fine. Her powerpoints are very descriptive, but you won't understand what's going on in them without actually going to class and listening. She is very intelligent, if you like to think and are creative this class if for you. She is difficult- but the class is very interesting and her class made me a stronger student. This course is not as difficult as everybody says it is. Tests are all multiple choice, and the cumulative final is optional. Professor Berent is super nice, but you HAVE to show up to class to do good otherwise you'll be lost; can't learn from slides alone.PSYC3464 2025-12-10 13:47:48 +0000 UTC
