This woman, albeit quite knowledgeable in the topic, was a horrendous instructor. Unorganized, very little feedback, strange expectations, and not even very fair in terms of grading. AMAZING. A real gem in the music history field and an inspired teacher. How many times do you get a prof. like that? If you're looking for easy, look elsewhere. Amazing professor. Learned more than any other class at NU, hands down. She can be a bit scattered, but is only because of her immense knowledge of the subject. Students need to not complain so much about her class not being as easy as pie. You're paying for an education that will hopefully challenge and better you simultaneously. Might be insane, but she also knows SO MUCH about music and music research. If that's what you like, don't be afraid to ask her for writing/research opportunities. She's brilliant and means well, but is completely out of this world. Lots of reading and writing for this class, but if she can see that you care it's not so bad. Very disorganized in not only her teaching style, but also her thought process. She assumes every student will become a music historian and assigns work as if it's the only class we take in college.
