The class was interesting, but the professor also made it way more attractive as a business student who just wanted the free credit. I honestly would take it again and love the way he broke up the material and class time. Professor Jung Lee is honestly the best professor I've ever had. There's one paper, two presentations, and two exams. He's a very fair grader and gives insanely detailed feedback. JL is one of the BEST profs here at NEU, I earnestly wish I could have him for all classes. He's pretty reserved outside of lectures, but don't let that discourage you - HES SO HELPFUL. And smart. Jung Lee is a wonderful enigma. A deeply humble professor. He pours his heart into these topics and his students. His teaching style lecture heavy, which works well for me. I've learned more from Jung Lee than any other professor. His personality is part of his charm. Take Ethics: East & West if you can. Great class, interesting content and uses the lecture time effectively. However, it does not feel like a philosophy class, the tests are just testing your memory and basically does not require much thought. Professor Lee is super knowledgeable and makes the topics very clear. He adds tons of videos and in class activities to make the subject more fun. He's super intelligent. His class is always interesting because he has a great sense of humor. You do need to attend class and the exams are to be taken seriously; not an easy A. Got all A's in my engineering classes and somehow managed a C+ in this Philosophy class. He does not post the notes so if you missed note in class you're out of luck. SUCH A FUN CLASS! He makes it very interactive and shows lots of cool videos both (ie Ye crash out and Breaking bad). We had a Tai Chi lesson one class and got to talk to a Buddhist nun during another unit. He is very knowledgeable and does a great job answering questions. He's a very good professor who is quite knowledgeable and clearly enjoys the subject. Your grade is only made up of a few assignments: one paper, two essays, and two presentations. It is a lecture-based class, so participation isn't really necessary.
