Dr. Bruner was a great professor-- she was connected to the course, even being taken online! She provides clear grading guidelines and helpful feedback. Follow speech guidelines and put effort into your assignments and it is an easy A. Dr. Bruner is also very reachable outside of class. She is an easy grader, but there were SO many readings and homeworks that were basically just essays. If you do your work you will get a good grade, but there is a lot of work. Dr. Bruner sets clear expectations and gives helpful feedback. Workshops are graded, and she's strict about phones/laptops. Not much homework or tests, just outlines and speeches. She's nice overall but took a while to email back, and sometimes came off passive aggressive irl. Graded harder than you'd expect for a 1000 level speaking class. Attendance isn't mandatory but participation matters? If you're in your first year at Northeastern, then Visual Communication with Professor Katie is sure to be your best choice to match the college life. Although there is a lot of reading material every week, he will give you a very good grade as long as you submit your assignments on time. The professor is great and not a tough grader if you follow the guidelines she gives for the assignments. But be prepared to read 30-40 pages a week and have three writing assignments a week (which are 2 pages or more worth of writing).
