Professor Savit was an amazing professor. She was so accommodating with any factors you had and also really cared about you learning something in class. Dr. Savit has so much care and knowledge of the subjects we studied. She is very caring and allows 3 missed classes. It is a very reading-heavy course but if you're interested in WGSS it is not bad at all. Much of the class is discussion-based. Not my favorite, didn't excuse absences (this was in the fall, everyone was getting the flu in Boston), attendance was part of the final grade, had 2 papers and 2 exams, and exams were on the terms stated in lectures, definitions were overly complex, never any feedback given, all grading is given to her TA. Huge amount of reading for a 102 class that often is not actually relevant to her lectures or our in class discussions. No one really ended up doing them by the end of the semester. Prof Savit is probably my favorite professor so far! She is very respectful and informed, but do NOT take this class if you aren't open to progressive, social construct-challenging lectures.
