Mostly a discussion based class, so participation is important. She's one of the sweetest profs I've met that genuinely cares for her students. Margot is super caring and always created a very comfortable class environment. Assigns lots of readings and most of the class is discussion-based. Margot is super flexible if you are uncomfortable talking in discussions. Margot was a lot of fun as a professor. She's very sweet and understands you have a life outside of class. There is a lot of reading but a lot of it can be skimmed. Her class leaned a little too far into discussion for my taste, and sometimes it felt like an echo chamber of opinion (as someone who agreed with the opinions discussed it was a bit redundant). The majority of the time we just had discussions in class, and if you just talk and add to the discussion you will definitely be fine. She assigns a TON of readings but you don't need to thoroughly read the majority of them, just skim and you will be fine. Margot is very passionate about Women's Studies, but I don't think the intro class is the best for her to teach. Most of our work was graded and reviewed by the TA, not her. It was also a little scattered with topics and most lectures turned into random class discussions that somewhat related to what we were learning.
