She will tease you affectionately. She gives a lot of readings, and it's definitely the type of class where you get out what you put into it. When she gives options for an assignment, choose the most simple one and do it very comprehensively. I really enjoyed the material as well as her lectures. She's low-key so funny and really lenient with the participation grade. I think I missed like 6 classes, and she still gave me a 90 percent for attendance. Lots of readings that frankly I don't think many people did but are worth it if you're going into the healthcare field. Kind, and there are no in-class exams, but the class has a lot of reading. Grading feels subjective with no rubric, and feedback is vague. Discussions can be uncomfortable, especially if you are a minority, because she has a white savior complex. Great professor! Group projects beware...if you get a bad group you will be screwed. She is more funny than she lets on at first. Sometimes her grading criteria is not very clear b/c she doesn't always give you a rubric so you don't know how to improve at times, BUT, she still is pretty accessible and caring. Professor McLeod was a very entertaining professor and definitely knew what she was talking about. She was very laidback in terms of attendance, allowing for multiple excused absences on top of wellness days. She also granted a 2 day extension with no penalty for every assignment. Like others said, no rubrics were provided for the writing assignments so it was kind of unclear what she was looking for. However, she was really accommodating and gave us unexcused absences, and two day extensions with no penalty on all assignments. Exams were open note and take-home. Would assign a lot of reading, but honestly the readings could be very interesting. She did not provide rubrics for writing assignments so it was a bit difficult to tell what she wanted, but after getting feedback from the first paper it was fine for me. lisa was a jovial and laidback professor, and her lectures were pretty mentally stimulating. i wish her grading criteria was more clarified though because it was pretty hard to gauge exactly what she's looking for in her assignments. she gave us four excused absences and two-day extensions on all assignments (minus the final). overall fair prof.1165 2023-12-16 18:43:46 +0000 UTC
DO NOT IGNORE PPL SAYING THAT GRADING IS UNCLEAR! (I made that mistake). The class is easy, but like others have said the grading is so unclear and subjective. class was mostly discussions in groups which was good to learn about differing perspectives. basically no work, but mcleod is a confusing grader. i would get comments with praise but then get points off, but on another assignment receive critics and get a better score. overall, fun class, would be very difficult to not get an A1165 2023-11-07 16:53:55 +0000 UTC
This class is a very chill class. Its not a hard class. I did learn alot and she teaches well. The papers are not hard just make sure to ask questions if confused.. as said below grading is weird.
