He is a good teacher for a stats class and is pretty sarcastic but his sarcasm is easy to get past. He explains concepts clearly and lays out expectations for homework and tests clearly as well. There are 4 tests, which are pretty similar to the homework problems. There was a textbook but you don't really need to use it.PSYC2320 2022-12-19 22:00:17 +0000 UTC
the class was pretty easy but always interesting. the slides were available online, so it was ok to miss class every now and then, but the slides did not always explain the material as it was explained in the lectures. my class rarely ever referenced the book, but the next semester class used it much more, so reading is becoming more important.PSYCH1101 2012-04-24 00:20:16 +0000 UTC
Dr. Halko is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He is hilarious and teaches in a way that everything makes sense. He is also very consistent and organized with the syllabus. When doing test reviews, he always states what he expects from us. He is amazing and I would take a class with him without thinking twice.PSYC2320 2022-04-19 14:28:34 +0000 UTC
It is helpful to go to class, but all you really have to do is read the slides and he posts them online.PSYCH1101 2012-03-21 18:29:34 +0000 UTC
Dr. Halko had a good sense of humor, I didn't go to a single class and completed the 4 HW and 4 exams that he assigned and did just fine. If you attend lectures, it is almost impossible not to get an A. He teaches. exactly what to do for homework, and is very laid back. Course content is very digestible.PSYC2320 2021-04-23 02:28:58 +0000 UTC
Dr. Halko is a pretty straightforward professor. We had 4 homework assignments and 4 tests throughout the semester, and that's what we were graded on. However, the assignments were super easy as long as you paid attention in class. He typically ended class early which was nice, and was always around after to answer questions.PSYC2320 2020-05-16 19:15:19 +0000 UTC
Dr. Halko is amazing. He is very accessible with office hours and responds the emails quickly. Attendance isn't mandatory but going to lectures does make a difference in how you understand the material. Homework and tests are not hard if you understand the material. Pay attention and don't be afraid to ask questions.PSYC2320 2020-05-02 16:54:19 +0000 UTC
Professor Halko, was a really great professor. I hate anything even remotely related to math, so having to take stats was a pain in the ass. But professor Halko made it ok. He is funny, most of his jokes are straight on dad jokes, but still. If you have trouble understanding anything he'll explain it in any way that you may understand.PSYC2320 2018-04-13 13:45:24 +0000 UTC
He tries to make a math class fun for a class full of psychology majors. He really cares about if you do well in class (drops 1/4 of your tests). Very accessible outside of class. The class also usually ends early.PSYC2320 2018-04-06 20:58:04 +0000 UTC
Dr. Halko is a very good professor. He is enthusiastic, and although he may come off sarcastic at times, is passionate about Statistics. Very approachable, will away get back to you, and find time to help you. He really wants everyone to do well. Isn't a very easy course, but he tries to make it easier(counts 3 of the highest scores out of 4 exams)PSYC2320 2016-12-06 20:19:05 +0000 UTC
Dr. Halko came off as kinda rude to me, made me afraid to go to him for help, turn in homework late, go to class late etc. Definitely didn't help me pay attention in class or show up often. I had the two class a week schedule so classes seemed unbearably long as well. Makes awkward jokes and is kind of sarcastic sounding at all times.PSYC2320 2016-05-05 15:34:54 +0000 UTC
I absolutely love this class and I strongly recommend taking it with this professor!PSYC2320 2016-04-22 17:54:01 +0000 UTC
Funny guy! Best prof. I've had at NEU. He knows he comes off as condescending to some, but has mentioned that it's completely accidental. He's just trying to keep everyone happy, & we all have different levels of capability. Most helpful professor at NU - will do whatever it takes to help you understand. Disagree with my grade, but respect him.PSYC2320 2015-05-11 16:40:44 +0000 UTC
Easiest class I have ever taken. If you go to the lectures he will go over step by step what will be on every test. Sometimes he made it seem like he though everyone in the class was stupid and he went extremely slow through easy topics making class miserable but he was very clear. Tests were easy. Drops lowest "good faith" grade.PSYC2320 2014-02-19 13:58:26 +0000 UTC
He's not a good teacher, makes asking questions seem like a problem. Makes you feel like an idiot if you answer wrong, etc. Not a good reflection of teachers at NEUPSYC2320 2013-04-29 16:40:54 +0000 UTC
