He is an extremely rude man. As a music industry major I have been around the block and taken many music classes, never before have I been treated so badly. I was mocked in class and got up and left. He plays favorites.HT2 2009-11-29 23:50:00 +0000 UTC
AWESOME CLASSMUSC116 2009-11-23 00:22:56 +0000 UTC
Had him for Beethoven. Great guy. I would hang out with him. He has so much passion for the material and you'll learn a lot of interesting stuff. Only two written tests and one listening exam, all fairly easy if you go to class. I recommend this class if you just need an elective and are interested in Beethoven.MUS116 2008-04-24 03:23:28 +0000 UTC
Kroll knows his stuff and makes class interesting. You learn a lot in his class and it’s the type of knowledge that will stay with you for life, it’ll change how you look at music. Participation counts and you need to do the reading because he calls on people in class. Very passionate/enthusiastic.MUS101 2008-02-21 10:11:34 +0000 UTC
Kroll knows this material cold, and he's very enthusiastic about teaching. He'll expect you to contribute in class, so read all of the assignments. Also, he slips in his social/political views in short asides that you can't really ignore or respond to, but when he's talking about the actual course material he's great.MUSU311 2007-12-09 10:07:52 +0000 UTC
He is all about the details.. so listen up. He never expects you know something unless he has gone over it in class, and he has a passion for what he teaches so never be afraid to ask him for help or to just review something. The listening test is def. the hardest part of the class so be prepared - study early and study a lotBEETHOVEN 2005-10-29 09:22:51 +0000 UTC
this guy is pretty easy as a teacher, but is a complete moron. he insists on calling out, like in high school, to see who has done the reading. somehow he thinks insulting us will scare us in to doing work for him, when really it just makes him look like a big dick.MUS116 2007-02-14 01:42:41 +0000 UTC
Kroll is a sweet sweet man.. He expects you to know a lot of stuff though.Take good notes on everything he says.It will be on the testand he will randomly call on you. Start listening to the music early for the listening test. He is great and you can tell he really loves what he does for a living..BEETHOVEN 2005-01-08 20:27:05 +0000 UTC
He's a great guy, an interesting teacher, and it's obvious that he loves what he's teaching. Be prepared for classes and start the listening assignments early for the test.MUS116 2005-04-18 14:57:26 +0000 UTC
