He is really responsive to the emails when you ask questions. There's a lot of daily lectures and quizzes but it's doable. He is a good grader but the things we covered were pretty detailed. If you don't think you will have a lot of coursework from other classes it's an almost-easy A class!MUSC2101 2019-06-20 13:44:18 +0000 UTC
This is the slowest professor ever, it took him 1 month to complete the final grade but even now I still didn't get my final grade for last semester. He gave me 0 for one of the assignment because he couldn't open the audio file and he didn't inform me that second version of the file still not working. It is so ridiculous that I have done so much.MUSC1001 2019-01-14 02:24:23 +0000 UTC
This was the worst experience I've had in a class. Very confusing as to what and when things were due. He missed class all the time but graded attendance as 30% of our grade and even incorrectly recorded my attendance. Was never around for feedback but graded harshly and when he did give feedback it was extremely vague. I would avoid.MUSC1131 2019-01-08 22:16:09 +0000 UTC
Really nice professor. Assigns a LOT of reading, and most learning happens outside of the class. The lectures are often a bit too slow. Really likes the classes he's teaching and has a very personal attitude and style of teaching. Requires a large final project for most of his classes.MUSC2330 2018-05-08 18:50:02 +0000 UTC
Mark Lomanno is awesome. He is so passionate about the hip hop class and cares for his students. Hip Hop in the Music Industry is a discussion based class. If you are shy and don't like speaking; this is not the class for you. Professor L loves engaging, long discussions so come prepared with ideas. Difficult class but he's a great teacherMUSC3000 2018-04-02 23:08:35 +0000 UTC
As a musician I enjoyed the class, if you don't have a music background you may find it difficult. Heavy use of Blackboard discussions. Tests are timed and lots to do. Lecture heavy, but does bring in special guests. Fair grader, but read and listen to the music before class. Plenty of extra credit, would definitely take again.MUSC1112 2017-11-19 23:11:33 +0000 UTC
He is one of the worst professors I have had in my 4 years. He cancelled a bunch of classes due to research presentations in other parts of the country. He didn't grade anything until the end but then had to push the grading deadline back even more. He grades things harshly and gives feedback that doesn't align with what the assignment asked for.MUSC1001 2018-12-12 20:23:07 +0000 UTC
It is a discussion-based course. However, the instructor has missed a couple classes for traveling around the nation to give presentation (About 6-7 classes are canceled over the semester). Plus, TAs do make mistakes on taking attendance. I ended up at 87.5% attendance grade even I never missed a class. Assignments and readings really take time!!!!MUSC1001 2018-12-11 15:41:10 +0000 UTC
