I had him for COMM1101 over the summer and he was a very good teacher. The lectures weren't done by him but were very easy to follow and the concepts are understandable. There aren't many assignments but if there is one, it's an essay (which was never too bad). The final is a group project. The tests are 100 questions, all multiple choice.COMM1101 2025-09-15 17:56:25 +0000 UTC
Michael is very laid back but dedicated to his students. He gives you a clear syllabus with deadlines for everything and grading expectations. He feels a tad simplistic in class but is overall very nice and helpful.COMM3201 2018-02-12 22:37:03 +0000 UTC
I took his Comm Research Methods course online and had some trouble with it. Math is not generally my thing and that course requires a lot of it, especially the final project. That being said, he is very responsive to emails and it overall a very understanding person.COMM2301 2017-08-27 22:24:54 +0000 UTC
I took SCOM2050 online but I really wish I took it in person because I loved learning the content and the professor! There are weekly quizzes that are super easy and short and just from the video lectures(which are very interesting) over the PowerPoint that he screenrecords. He gives amazing detailed feedback and just seems like a great person!COMM1101 2022-04-06 01:47:18 +0000 UTC
Michael is one of my favorite profs I've taken from at NU. He gives great feedback, responds to emails super fast, and is a cool guy. As long as you do the work and participate / ask questions you'll have no problem in any of his classes. Also always available for meetings & office hours.COMM3201 2017-09-12 08:05:24 +0000 UTC
Just say what he does and you'll be fine. Extremely easy course in general, but he's also helpful and good at explaining. Was let out early probably 98% of the time.COMM2301 2016-10-31 12:42:05 +0000 UTC
Michael knows so much about Comm and is a great professor and clearly passionate about his work. He is so intelligent, caring, and understanding and gives detailed and personal feedback on each assignment that students submit. He gets to know his students and is very accommodating. Funny guy, would definitely take his classes again. Laid back.COMM1101 2020-12-01 04:55:15 +0000 UTC
I am not a big fan of math so when I took this course, I was nervous it was going to be too hard. However, he is a great professor and explains everything very thoroughly and makes sure you understand it. He is always willing to help outside of class and answers his emails very efficiently.COMM2301 2016-04-19 18:15:01 +0000 UTC
