This man is evil.EECE2520 2026-02-10 01:16:08 +0000 UTC
Took him for a BIOE class, and he made it so much harder than it had to be. Lectures were okay, homework was long. He was making all the homework and exams on the fly so the class was very disorganized, and grades took a long time to come back. We were so behind, and he had to start doing extra 2 hr weekly recitation for us to know what's going on.EECE2140 2025-04-26 02:51:18 +0000 UTC
Honestly - dropping this rating because I feel like he's a pretty good prof for Linear Systems. Knows his stuff and is very good at explaining things. Also very understanding. Rewards effort - so show up to class and office hours. The homeworks are long and assigned kind of randomly throughout the semester though, so be prepared.EECE2520 2025-04-29 02:35:16 +0000 UTC
Professor Fanaei is a great lecturer, if you pay attention youll know everything for the exams. Most of your grade comes from hw and weekly quizzes which is nice. Each exam you get 2 pages worth of notes so if you plan ahead theyre a cake walk. Unfortunately the man does not grade, its the last week of class and I could have a C or A, I dont knowEECE2140 2025-04-16 00:46:10 +0000 UTC
Very chill guy and honestly a good lecturer as well. He doesn't give a lot of work so it is important to turn everything in on time. Definitely would take this class again.EECE2140 2025-04-11 14:15:10 +0000 UTC
This professor was the worst teacher I have ever had. I already knew how to code in python but his tests were impossible and grading made no sense. He used chatgpt for everything and it made no sense. He showed up to class 20 minutes late and was impossible to reach through email. He doesn't post his code.EECE2140 2024-12-05 17:31:00 +0000 UTC
He is not very encouraging. If you do not understand something he tends to be rude about it. He "lectures" but he does not post any of the lectures online, and he does not post any of the in class code online either making it very difficult to study for the class.EECE2140 2024-10-25 14:44:45 +0000 UTC
Terrible lecturer, very boring. Does not post anything online regarding upcoming assessments. Did not even upload the syllabus to the Canvas page until the 3rd week of classes. If you already know Python you will be greatly disadvantaged - he marks wrong any problem you do that uses things he hasn't taught already. Very close mindedEECE2140 2024-10-21 03:50:19 +0000 UTC
Difficult to pay attention to in class, often unclear in his directions and teaching, nothing posted on Canvas. Didn't know what my grad would be between A and D until the day grades were due, not even sure if he graded the final projectEECE2140 2024-05-16 16:08:55 +0000 UTC
took this course my first semester at Northeastern with no previous coding experience. Fanaei made this class incredibly stressful for me. He does not respond to emails, he does not provide lots of feedback (if any at all). It's finals week and I have genuinely no idea what my grade is because he has not graded either of our 2 midterms.EECE2140 2023-12-10 20:04:21 +0000 UTC
The lectures were boring but homeworks were pretty much all based on effort and there were a lot of extra credit opportunities. The two midterm grades were pretty low but he scaled everything after the final and also the weight was not as significant as expected (even with a 75 and 80 on the two midterms I got an A). He is nice if you ask for help.EECE2140 2023-08-27 19:12:25 +0000 UTC
took this class fall 2022. definitely go to lecture because he doesn't post much on canvas. towards the end of the semester he started posting jupyter notebooks to go through. He takes a while to grade assignments. I think if you attend lecture and follow along, you should be okay. he also seems to be very open to suggestions or improvementsEECE2140 2023-06-08 18:30:39 +0000 UTC
He is bad at teaching. He doesn't post any of his slides from class and barely posts any of his code. He assigned a large final project on the second to last class of the semester and only gave us two weeks, which was finals, to do the project. Take a different professor.EECE2140 2023-04-27 20:57:29 +0000 UTC
Want to know your grade in the class? Get ready to wait. It's been 45 days (I checked) and the first midterm still hasn't been fully graded. Lectures are honestly pretty boring and repetitive. Despite this, the exams are insane so your average won't benefit. He admitted that he used chatGPT to make the online quizzes, which explains a lot.EECE2140 2023-04-10 22:54:36 +0000 UTC
Lectures are extremely long and boring, barely any grades (last 2 weeks of sem). By the time we took our first midterm the only grade in canvas was one homework from the first few weeks of the semester and two auto-graded canvas quizzes which were assigned as homework. About to take the second midterm and the first one hasn't even been graded yet.EECE2140 2023-04-07 14:37:04 +0000 UTC
