I passed with a C in this class even after failing all three exams. The homework assignments brought my grade up. He initially said that it would be a difficult course and it was. Make sure to do the readings in the textbook outside of the lecture notes. He talks fast but records his lectures. He also gives good feedback on your homework.PSYCHOFLANG 2022-05-09 19:36:53 +0000 UTC
Professor Neal has great acknowledgment for this subject, and he is the most responsible professor I have seen that always willing to help. I learn a lot from his class, although I didn't receive a high grade because I am a poor writer. Overall, I am very happy to take his class.PSYC4612 2020-04-05 21:15:28 +0000 UTC
Grades very harshly for the 10-page reports in his Lab Cognition class. Takes off a ridiculous amount of points for everything. He doesn't even grace you with a B or C, but actually gives you an F, despite following all of the guide lines that he goes over in lecture. DON'T TAKE HIM!PSY464 2018-05-04 21:50:23 +0000 UTC
DO NOT take this class if you haven't taken/are not interested in linguistics. He talks so quickly. Oh, also,it has NOTHING to do with psychology. Awful to sit through. Pain exists in the mind; and this class exacerbates pain. I've seriously considered writing him a letter about learning how to teach. I posted this instead, to avoid controversy.PSYOFLANG 2011-03-17 14:40:55 +0000 UTC
He wants you to understand everything he's teaching, and he will go the extra mile to make sure that you do. The information is a little bit difficult (but very interesting), and the textbook is the literary equivalent of Nyquil, but you really only need to read a few pages when you study, and he outlines them for you in his study guides.Great profPSCYHU464 2007-04-30 10:59:27 +0000 UTC

nice guy, grades fair, gives many chances to re-write labs. very good with email and he seems to follow through when he says he will do something to help the class. nice guy who talks kind of fast, but still does a good job. he looks like egon from ghost busters.COGLAB 2006-04-20 14:02:52 +0000 UTC

great prof...really nice and easy to talk to. Very helpful with everything, but the class sucks. Real boring very hard to sit through the entire class. I think i may have only done it a handful of timesPSYCOFLANG 2005-04-13 22:53:00 +0000 UTC
I don't know if it's the subject matter or the way it's conveyed, but class definitely drags by the end. Nevertheless, you couldn't find a more helpful teacher that doesn't leave you up in the air about homework assignments, tests, etc. That means if you miss a class you're not out of luck.PSYCHOFLNG 2005-03-24 07:09:38 +0000 UTC
Though exams are hard and material can be confusing, Prof Pearlmutter takes time to really explain the material in such a way that will bring you success in his course. I never thought I'd enjoy psycholinguistics but he truly is a good professor and knows what he's doing. He's transparent about grading/curves so you'll always know where you stand.PSYCHOFLANG 2022-04-25 22:12:57 +0000 UTC
Knowledgable, professional. Speaks quickly. Tough-ish but fair.PSY464 2005-02-12 11:16:11 +0000 UTC
THE WORST class I have ever taken. I can't even describe to you how boring it is, not to mention it has NOTHING to do with psychology. The tests also have very little to do with lecture. SAVE YOURSELF AND AVOID THIS CLASS (unless you're a linguisitics major).PSYOFLANG 2005-12-02 11:15:29 +0000 UTC
Avoid this class if you have a disability/need accommodations. Prof Pearlmutter is very ableist, refuses to follow legally required disability accommodations, and calls out/belittles disabled students in class. He creates an unsafe learning environment, and his behavior is appalling. Why be an educator if you won't teach and respect all students?PSYCHOFLANG 2022-04-19 18:45:21 +0000 UTC
