DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The prof hardly knows what he is talking about, will circle around the same topic for 30+ mins, uses chatgpt for slides (if he even uses slides). You're graded on 5 scene responses and 5 tests. 90+ page readings, no study guides. If you're taking this for NU path, think again. This class was hardly about film or music.MUSC1113 2026-04-26 18:42:37 +0000 UTC
This class is graded on 5 scene responses and 5 MCQ tests for the most part, and this is based on really long readings. You can claude the readings and everything, and still succeed, however if you don't want a headache-- don't take him. Not worth it unless there's a specific requirement he can satisfy.1113 2026-04-16 18:25:11 +0000 UTC
I really did not enjoy experience design with him. He based a lot of his class around his own work in music, which is not related to design. Overall the class was very disorganized and he was very unclear all around. Even when students voiced concerns to him directly. The class had to write to the department about our concerns as wellARTG3462 2023-11-13 15:14:43 +0000 UTC
Prof is a cool guy, but needs to get his act together. He will explain one concept or assignment 5 times and you still will not understand what he's talking about. One time he asked us for feedback on the course, we said fewer 50+ page readings before each class, and he got mad at us. 5/80 people participated in this class and it was sad.MUSC1113 2026-04-20 18:54:35 +0000 UTC
The lecture is one big discussion, and no material is taught. Test material is not discussed in class, and I was teaching myself. 90+ page readings for homework.1113 2026-03-09 20:23:46 +0000 UTC
I feel bad bc bro seems cool, but he needs to get it together. He will explain an assignment 5 times and you still won't understand what he wants from you bc he is so unclear when he talks. He asked for feedback on the class once and when we said fewer 50+ page readings, he got mad at us. 5/80 people participated in class. It was sorta sad.MUSC1113 2026-04-19 21:34:01 +0000 UTC
None of the terms for test 1 were defined in class. Doesn't take feedback well and rather blames the learning style rather than teaching style. Insane for a 1000 level class.1113 2026-03-09 20:17:36 +0000 UTC
This class isn't hard and prof is cool, but he needs to get it together. He will describe an assignment 5 times and you still won't understand what he wants from you bc everything he says is unclear. He also asked us for feedback, we said fewer 50+ page readings for every class, and he got mad at us. 5/80 people participated in class discussions.MUSC1113 2026-04-19 21:12:33 +0000 UTC
easy A take if u need elective, mostly entirely group projects but no test or quizzes1113 2026-01-10 01:08:42 +0000 UTC
if u think this is an easy A for NU path course, youre wrong. there are 5 tests, 5 scene responses, 3 projects, and readings with 100+ pages every night. the tests are based off of the 100+ pages, but had no study guides prepared for the 3 of the tests. gradings can be nit picky to the point of adding decimals. oh and attendance is mandatoryMUSC1113 2026-04-09 01:27:09 +0000 UTC
For a Film Music class, he really doesn't focus very much on the intersection of film and music. He has a background in music which shows, but otherwise makes up for his lack of knowledge/teaching skill by assigning way too much reading. If I wanted to learn about African poetry and drumming, I'd have taken a class in that. I wanted Film Music. :/MUSC1113 2026-02-24 06:32:09 +0000 UTC
