If you like supply chain and could see yourself doing it than hes the professor to take. He really cares a lot, it might come off harsh but its really just him giving it to you straight. Absolutely horrible professor, rambles throughout the class but does not actually teach. Huge loads of works, a case review for every 2 weeks, needed to read like 40 pages material per week. Fianl was three "long answer" questions, wanted 1500+ words within 2 hours. For projects, wanted us to ask data from school, but the school didn't care about him at all. Prof isnt as bad as people say. He clearly has a lot of knowledge about the supply chain world, and his lectures are very interesting. Grading criteria for executive briefs was a bit unclear but other than this his grading is straightforward. Professor Durant, though a hard grader, is one of the best professors if you want to understand real life concepts and understand the Supply Chain world. Although I fell asleep in class multiple times, he does bring in guest speakers and is strong on us paying attention in class rather than to the text book. Has industry experience and teaches about real-world examples. Never teaches/tests on the textbook but there is a lot of textbook homework. He does a semester-long project where each randomly assigned group does one part. Guidelines can be unclear and it's a lot of work but he will clarify if you ask him. He is a professor that cares more about our learning of practical real world knowledge than textbook regurgitation. While the rubrics for some assignments aren't exactly clear, if you ask you can get more clarification about what is needed. He knows his stuff and makes lectures engaging. He teaches practical knowledge rather than the textbook but the course still requires to buy it through mcgrawhill. I like the way he sets the syllabus because every seperate category is worth 15% or less of your total grade. Roy brings a lot of industry experience to class. Lectures never talk about textbook, but rather general guiding principles of industry. The textbook isn't really utilized outside of the Connect homework grade. Exams and papers are about what he teaches in class.
