She is the best professor Ive had in five years at Northeastern. Couldnt recommend taking a class with her more. Itll change your life!HONR3310 2017-10-24 20:07:32 +0000 UTC
She has an amazing hold on the subject. The class is a mix of Socratic method and lecture, and is always looking for participation. You get out what you put in for the class. She grades tough but consistent and fair.PHIL2303 2016-12-29 18:21:44 +0000 UTC
She's very caring. If you adapt to her anti-capitalist ideas, you'll do well, not so otherwise. The papers were graded very weirdly.PHIL1160 2022-04-30 20:55:42 +0000 UTC

Professor Parekh is an incredible professor who truly cares for her students and their education.PHIL1160 2022-04-27 21:11:34 +0000 UTC
AMAZING lectures. Doing the reading would help but is not necessarily needed to do well. Just listen and take notes in class. Papers are graded as philosophy papers, not regular papers so beware of that. Don't take this class as an NUPath req, it's a decent chunk of work. Other than that - great class and professor!PHIL1160 2022-04-17 16:08:46 +0000 UTC
I considered changing my major a few times just so I could take classes with her again. She will explain the content in an understandable and rememberable way and she is so caring and understanding. Not once did I feel stressed and because of that her class was a joy to take.PHIL1160 2022-02-14 09:01:16 +0000 UTC
Serena was absolutely caring lovely professor, the only objection I had was that she constantly mixed up pure economics or philosophy work towards racial and gender inequality. She is very subjective towards how the society should run, almost anti-capitalist. Don't expect to justify basic reasoning and logic and be prepared for deep pessimitism.PHIL1160 2021-11-10 19:30:25 +0000 UTC
Serena is a great teacher and a kind person. Easy to meet with her outside class and she gives great feedback that puts you on the right track. The class was somewhat difficult due to essays but having a great, encouraging teacher makes it a good overall experience.PHIL1160 2019-06-05 19:36:52 +0000 UTC
I tend to skip a lot of lectures but, she makes it clear from the first day of class that if you miss more than a certain amount of classes your grade drops with each additional absence. However, she is really good at making things easy to understand. Her tests are slightly difficult but the paper make up for it. Do the work and you'll be finePHIL1160 2017-04-12 18:48:27 +0000 UTC
