This is one of the most infuriating professors you'll ever have. She doesn't listen to others and doesn't proofread anything she posts. She also grades super slow & isn't flexible at all. She'll talk down to you & says things told privately to her in front of the whole class. Just nod & smile because nothing you do will change how bad this class isCOMM1112 2020-12-05 00:01:30 +0000 UTC
Worst teacher ever. Not flexible with anything and not understanding with students. When you ask for help shes mean and cold. Do not take her classes.COMM2301 2020-06-26 14:52:55 +0000 UTC
Do not take her. Worst teacher at NEU. Don't do this to yourself. She would constantly say she didn't like my speech topic, then why did you approve it? She is not clear in what she wants from your speeches. Also, she expects us to be experts in giving speeches and that we should "know how to control our emotions" which is impossible.COMM1113 2019-04-17 23:28:31 +0000 UTC
Frankly the worst professor I've had at NEU. Not understanding of students personal situations, forced us to take off our masks during speech presentations and graded multiple assignments at zero due to file corruption. Doesn't know what she's taking about either. I would sooner only take 12 credits than this class again.COMM1112 2020-10-20 14:47:15 +0000 UTC
Turned what was supposed to be a fun and easy class into a boring and hard one. Constantly raised her voice at the class as though we were in middle school. Guilt-tripped students in front of class. Nothing good to say about her both as a person and a professor, she needs to rethink the way she treats students. Worst teacher I've ever had.COMM1112 2018-08-23 13:32:23 +0000 UTC
Professor Springer sometimes spoke down to students but I honestly didn't care. She made her expectations clear and was always accessible for feedback.COMM1112 2018-04-13 19:43:55 +0000 UTC
Her constant over the top demeanor gets old real quick. She talks down to students as if they are children. I don't think she means it to be perceived this way, but it is definitely the way it comes off. Also there is too much outside work. Every day you have to prepare and practice a speech for class, while in class the actual lectures are uselessCOMM1112 2018-02-07 16:25:29 +0000 UTC
With Dr. Springer it is going to be her way or no way. She is very demanding and can come off as VERY mean.COMM1112 2018-01-15 23:12:04 +0000 UTC
Grading is up to her whim and not is not able to explain themCOMM1112 2017-11-15 23:46:31 +0000 UTC
She clearly has a lot of knowledge about what she's teaching but level of difficulty is very high . Doesn't really give specific feedback and isn't able to justify grading. Talks down on students in class. Randomly calls on people to give an "opening speech" based on reading. Demands a lot from students and treats it like a 4000 level class.COMM1112 2017-11-15 11:18:09 +0000 UTC
Dr. Springer is a teacher who will be late on grading assignments, she will blame her students for her own mistakes and errors, and ultimately gives herself a much greater importance than her students often claiming her personal life as an excuse for her failures. Dr. Springer will also, almost without fail talk to down to students in class.COMM1112 2017-10-26 16:55:10 +0000 UTC
Dr. Springer is clearly well-learned in Communication Studies, but she seems unaware that this is an elective class and most of us are only there to fulfill NUpath requirements. She somehow expects too much of us and treats us like children at the same time. Be prepared for constructive criticism because she rarely gives positive feedback.COMM1112 2017-10-20 17:06:05 +0000 UTC
