She is a very nice lady, and she cares about her students. She takes long to do her grades, but the assignments are fairly easy. Dr. Mello is an amazing professor. She's there to make sure her students learn above anything else. She is very open to student feedback, and is sure to explain every choice she makes regarding grading or class structure. Her lectures, while very intricate, where always interesting and helpful. Dr. Mello is such a kind-hearted professor who truly cares about her students. Despite classes being lecture-heavy, she tries to make them relatable. The class is test-heavy, but she allows paper notes and provides extra credit opportunities. Professor Mello is so great. A lot of people complain but you just have to pay attention in class and read the assigned papers. There's a short quiz every week, 3 tests that are open note/book, and 2 written assignments, its really not bad. Great professor. 1 of the 3 units of the class is on research methods, which is boring. The exams are open note & online. They're challenging; you need to study to do well. Do not read the textbook, it's pointless. Dr. Mello made the class easy and enjoyable with her bright demeanor! The tests were a bit difficult, but for one of them she felt so bad she gave everyone at 10% curve, so as long as you pay attention in class you'll be okay. Very nice person which is why her score is so high, but doesn't really teach in the online format which really sucked and the whole class worked so hard and still had a C average. I loved this class. Professor Mello is really thorough with her Powerpoints and has review sessions before her tests. You can even earn extra credit points from these sessions.
