He's a really great guy and soc of Boston is an interesting class for the most part, it was probably my favorite. If you go to class everyday and take good notes you don't need the book at all and can easily get an A in the class.SOCL1220 2010-05-04 11:40:34 +0000 UTC
Definitely more of a History of Boston course than a Sociology course. Gets off topic and wastes a lot of time with stories, but knows a ton about the city.SOC1220 2010-04-27 20:40:43 +0000 UTC
he is a really smart guy who knows everything about Boston! he is also very helpful you can ask him for help at any time! his pop up quizzes can be tricky but its not a problem if you attend classes. the research project is interesting but not very easy to get an A. overall you will learn a lot about boston!!!SOC220 2008-12-23 23:06:51 +0000 UTC
Prof. Holton seems like a really nice, helpful guy, but unfortunately this class is terribly boring, especially if you have any prior knowledge about Boston. The syllabus reads more like the history of Boston and he puts me to sleep with his monotone voice describing the filling of the Back Bay. i wouldn't recommend this as a 'fun' class.SOCOFBOST 2007-04-26 00:52:24 +0000 UTC
He is a nice guy and really knows Boston well. He is very passionate about what he teaches. He is monotone when he talks so it is sort of east to fall asleep but the project is fairly easy. It is an interesting class.SOCU220 2005-10-20 10:44:40 +0000 UTC
Very interesting class, and it's obvious that Willfred is passionate about what he teaches. He's there to help you, not to hurt you. Very very nice guy, and again very passionate about his subject.SOCOFBOSTON 2005-09-15 23:50:17 +0000 UTC
Prof Holton is a very intelligent, resourceful and articulate man. He cares about his students and is very generous with his time. Northeastern is fortunate to have him.ADVISOR 2005-08-30 17:58:05 +0000 UTC
Very nice guy and extremely helpful to his students. He is very knowledgable and knows a lot about Boston...more than u can imagine! lolDIRECTEDSTUDY 2005-04-13 10:19:41 +0000 UTC
Knowledgeable. Willing to work out difficulties w/ students 1on1. Perhaps a little longwinded. A decent human being, though not the prof. I fantasize coming back in five years and sipping brandy with - too dry. He has repeatedly admitted to being a 'dirty old man' - weird, though cool in a way(?)HUMSERV 2004-12-11 11:09:16 +0000 UTC
hes a really awesome professor-he knows so much about the field, about the area of boston itself. fascinating to listen to in the right class.SOC100 2004-11-06 09:32:35 +0000 UTC

Worst teacher I have ever had...by far! He is unclear and literally told me "if you want an A, I am asking for the impossible." Do not take him...ever.DIASPORA 2003-11-15 13:42:46 +0000 UTC
