He's my goat, the best professor at NEU. He literally would let us go on 30min walks mid lecture because "people think better when they walk". If you have an option to take him, please doPHIL1145 2026-02-26 20:43:42 +0000 UTC
Professor Wang is extremely passionate regarding what he teaches, and keeps class time engaging with thought-provoking group discussions. The final average is graded on few assignments and participation, but he is very lenient with attendance. If he is teaching a course you are anticipating to take, definitely take his classPHIL1145 2025-10-28 00:49:20 +0000 UTC
Very good professor! Lectures are very interesting and he tries to make it very engaging and participative. Assignments are very straightforward with clear grading criteria and graded quite leniently. He initiates very interesting discussions on ethics and is very good at asking questions that make you retrospect. Overall, amazing experience!PHIL1145 2025-06-27 23:42:30 +0000 UTC
Such a kind prof! I took his class summer in-person. The lectures and in-class discussions are very interesting! Attendance is graded, but you are allowed to miss a lot of days. Every assignment is allowed to be turned in 2 days late before points are taken off. There is 1 homework, paper, and a 5-minute presentation. A very fun class, I recommend!PHIL1145 2025-06-18 16:13:25 +0000 UTC
Overall very chill class, grades very leniently and gives you a bunch of absences and opportunities for extra credit, highly recommend!PHIL1145 2025-04-10 13:23:05 +0000 UTC
Great prof, very fun to be in class with. He's flexible and allows several absences, and has extra credit opportunities to earn extra points, late days, or absent days. Highly recommend.PHIL1145 2025-04-01 20:57:39 +0000 UTC
Amazing professor - I've learned so much from this class. Each week is dedicated towards a specific topic, and it is presented in an engaging way with lots of class discussion. You can really tell he cares about philosophy and his students, with constant check-ins on homework and kindly granted extensions. Definitely would recommend!!!PHIL1145 2025-03-31 18:20:46 +0000 UTC
Great professor! Classes are almost exclusively discussion based, which I really liked. He gives very little homework and structures his classes so that they're very engaging with few lectures. It is obvious that he cares about his students and is very receptive to feedback. Overall, his Tech and Human Values class was my favorite of the semester!PHIL1145 2025-01-07 18:38:18 +0000 UTC
Great professor. As long as you pay attention to the rubric and formats he mentions during class, it's a chill class. One homework per two weeks and a final paper determines most grades. He's super chill, and participating in discussions with him during classes is fun.PHIL1145 2024-12-26 03:16:19 +0000 UTC
Wonderful guy. First year teaching, and he has it all down. Incredibly understanding, very open to feedback, genuienly works on making class more fun, better, and engaging. Class is genuinely interesting with many in class discussions. Truly cares about the subject and hopes that he can make his students interested. Nothing but respect for him.PHIL1145 2024-12-12 04:35:43 +0000 UTC
Professor Wang's class was great. Every class included group discussions on interesting topics in tech and society. And Professor Wang is inviting and encourages a diversity of perspectives on every topic. There's a few papers throughout the semester but as long as you write your arguments in logical form and actually try, you'll do well.PHIL1145 2024-12-11 16:50:11 +0000 UTC
