One of the most awful professors I have ever had. He is so unorganized with his syllabus and very immature with how he communicates with students. He definitely has knowledge about criminal justice, but he needs to learn how to teach a class. I would recommend looking into taking this class with a different professor.CRMJUS262L 2014-05-22 01:18:56 +0000 UTC
He's a nice guy and you can relate to him, but he's really bad about giving feedback and responding to emails. He knows his stuff but sometimes class is confusing since it isn't always structured fluidly.CRIM2200 2012-07-01 21:30:30 +0000 UTC
Great teacher! He really wants kids to achieve and understand the material. The tests are not hard if you go to class and pay attention. There are only a few papers which are based on movies you watch in class or a topic of your choice. He does a great job at offering extra credit from extra assignments to taking a field trip to a jail. GREAT!CRIM1000 2011-01-08 21:10:40 +0000 UTC
I can't believe he got such low ratings! Carlos is great, he's such a nice guy and he made class really interesting. He's young- in his 20s- so he's totally relatable and down-to-earth. I'm not a CJ major, but I really enjoyed his class anyway. He really wants his students to do well. Take his class! ...just not at 8am.CRIM1100 2010-12-16 01:55:57 +0000 UTC
Terrible lecturer, jumps around topics and doesn't use powerpoints. Attendance is mandatory which sucks. Relatively easy class, a project and some tests.CRIM3300 2010-04-03 17:43:05 +0000 UTC
Very nice guy. 2nd class i have taken with him. Not a really strong speaker, but he is getting better. Knows his stuff and tries to help students. Very fair and easily approached. RECOMMEND!!CORR3300 2009-12-13 23:24:41 +0000 UTC
Nice guy. Horrible lecturer. Cant explain clearly. Will clarify though if you ask him to. Very lenient with due dates and test taking. Works with the students and hes young so he can connect easily. I would recommend his classes solely for his easygoing personality, rather than a brilliant teacher that is impossible to get along with.CJU101 2009-08-25 22:06:03 +0000 UTC
He is a very easy teacher. Class is interesting most of the time. Not always clear about what he wants but his tests are easy if you study from his lecture slides. A few easy papers. He is a pretty good teacher.CJU330 2009-04-08 15:54:06 +0000 UTC
He is a very nice guy but does not know how to teach what so ever. When you come to the first day of class and tell your students you dont like teaching it is very hard to learn. This class is only difficult because he has no idea what he is doingCORR330 2009-04-07 11:30:09 +0000 UTC
great teacher. easy class mostly goes over teh chapters so dont need to read. def recommend himINTROIDK 2009-04-03 11:35:35 +0000 UTC
Wonderful Professor. Tries to make you interested-he knows a lot. TAKE HIMCJ101 2009-03-19 21:11:37 +0000 UTC
Overall a nice and understanding guy. What blew this class for me is that the entire semester consisted of him standing at the podium reading off notes in a monotone voice. Due to the lack of interest, it was impossible to pay attention which really screws you over for the exams. My advise Carlos: use powerpoints and spice/liven up your lectures!CRIM2200 2011-12-07 01:29:09 +0000 UTC
He is a very nice guy but unfortunately still needs some time to learn time management. He falls behind in class, sometimes irreparably. He is very knowledgeable and easy going, he justs needs a little more experience before he figures out the specifics of teaching. As long as you do the readings and pay attention you should do well.CRIM1100 2010-04-08 20:34:04 +0000 UTC
really easy going nice guy. lectures alot, often gets off topic. very lenient about due dates. very reasonable about attendance although its mandatory. gives alot of extra credit opportunities. is knowledgeable but also busy because he is a grad studentCRIM1100 2009-12-03 12:35:21 +0000 UTC
