Wally's a genius. People who said he made them feel like idiots by crushing their opinions obviously didn't get it. He WANTS you to argue with him. I was in an extremely heated argument with him one class and every time he's seen me since he tells me I was one of his best students. He needs to retire. If you want to learn anything don't take a class with him. Everything is curved, because it HAS to be. Claims attendance is req. but then bases participation on it (b/c no one wants to talk to him in class) He should be retiring not teaching. He doesn't seem to know how to teach anymore. One of the most boring professors ever, lectures in the same monotone voice every class period. Discussions are pointless becuz he always tries to impose his thoughts and views. Definitly getting too old to teach. He is very scatterbrained and often goes off topic. I feel like I'm teaching the work to myself. The quizzes are easy but the midterm and final are impossible. Good with scaling and extra credit though.CRIMJUST 2008-11-16 19:22:30 +0000 UTC
Unfortunately, it seems that Sherwood might be losing his touch in his old age. You can definitely tell that he knows his stuff and he is still a pretty effective teacher..but hes more than a little scatterbrained and can be difficult to understand. He is an interesting man with a wry sense of humor all his own. Wallace Sherwood is the man. Even with his liberal agenda that skewed every single topic we covered, he was all about getting into to it with anyone who disagreed. Sherwood is an excellent professer. He has an incredible commend of Criminal Law and, while he always puts his spin on things, he'll entertain any other opinions professionally and respectfully.
