Syllabus said the class was PASS/FAIL, but on the last day when grades were out turned out it was a letter grade class. She did not know that faculty hadn't made the class pass/fail yet and even upon clarifying in person said it was pass/fail and never bothered to check. Had to appeal the grade from C to A; the whole class trades were altered.CRIM1000 2026-02-23 00:36:18 +0000 UTC
Take a different prof for light work & easy A, take Larsen to learn. I worked hard but got a 97 plus 10 points of extra credit. Her lectures are only her speaking about what we read in the textbook which wasn't for me. probably wasted my time reading. the TA grades the papers & projects and she's too harsh. PARTICIPATE AND LISTEN IN LECTURECRIM1100 2025-04-27 17:25:27 +0000 UTC
Excellent professor with entertaining lectures. Encourages students to answer questions, and always provides additional classifications during class. Easy to access outside of class for lingering questions.CRIM1110 2025-04-10 17:06:07 +0000 UTC
She is an entertaining professor to listen to, gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit and we get to go to court and witness cases in place of class lectures at times. I cannot complain, she's great! She also gives you one or two chances to turn in a late assignment without asking or explaining.CRIM4120 2025-02-12 23:50:01 +0000 UTC
Professor Larsen is very educated in her field, and I enjoyed her lectures. It's important to read the case studies before class because she takes note of who participates. I recommend looking through her lecture slides before class as well. She offers many extra credit opportunities that aren't too difficult, which is a helpful grade booster.CRIM1120 2024-05-02 01:33:17 +0000 UTC
Larsen's legal practice significantly interferes with class. She appears to have been completely unprepared for this class, even saying she was uncomfortable with the material. Larsen could be described as completely absent from the course for the first half of the semester. Grading & assignments are posted late; treats grad students like children.CRIM7202 2021-03-15 15:47:32 +0000 UTC
One of my favorite professors at Northeastern. Her lectures are very helpful, and just listen and participate, and you will do well and learn a lot. She really is a funny and interesting person as well, I definitely recommend.CRIM2100 2020-06-26 02:54:30 +0000 UTC
Professor Larsen is a good and clear lecturer so pay attention, take good notes and you should be fine. I found her tests to be a little difficult because she tries to trip you up, even though she claims otherwise. Be very careful of deadlines, she is extremely inflexible and not very understanding. She does give extra credit which is nice.DUEPROCESS 2020-05-27 18:10:19 +0000 UTC
One of the best at NEU. She's straightforward and tells you what you need to know for each case, so get ready to take notes. The tests are hard and she does try and trip you up. This is why you need to read carefully and pay attention to the class discussions and lectures. This class is no easy-A, but you'll definitely learn something.CJ2100 2019-11-07 17:03:17 +0000 UTC
Very interesting. Doesnt take the size of cops often, since she is a defense attorney. Funny and laid back. Talks to fast and loud, but its worth it.CJ110 2009-12-13 23:27:52 +0000 UTC
Prof Larsen is the most entertaining professor i have had so far at school. I was never bored during her class, she has plenty of funny stories (regarding law), and fields all questions no matter how ridiculous. Offers tons of extra credit opportunities and with some effort you'll get an A. Very cool lady, take her class.CJU110 2009-01-14 03:07:24 +0000 UTC
She was ok, rushed things in the end, of course had favorites...if you stay on top of your work you should be fineDUEPROC 2008-07-15 18:13:57 +0000 UTC
She is awesome! I really wish She was teaching another class so I could take it. She is straight forward and doesn't mess around and has experience in what she is teaching. Easygoing.DUPROSECT 2007-11-08 15:13:40 +0000 UTC
love her humor!CRIM1000 2025-12-17 06:12:42 +0000 UTC
She is a great professor I would 100% recommend. The class was very simple, just based off textbook chapters and in class lectures with unit quizzes and a semester long easy reflection writing assignment. Final project was an online project, very doable.CRIM1100 2024-12-18 03:03:53 +0000 UTC
