Do not take this class with her if you are a STEM major or have ANY other demanding classes! I was taking Orgo at the same time and I genuinely feel like she lowered me a letter grade by requiring 2+ hours of my time every night doing homework, projects, or essays. Hands down least favorite class and professor in my 5 years. She is an advisor and uses it to plug her own class even if its not right for the student. Came to her for extra help every week and still almost failed me/made me drop the minor(got >B+ In my other Spanish classes). Amazing teacher. Most I have ever learned. Fantastic structure of the class, uses various topics to teach grammar and practice. Goes over all grammar again and helped me feel more prepared to use spanish than any other course. Definitely take if you want to get better at grammar. Professor Agostinelli-Fucile is a good professor. The class (advanced Spanish II) is pretty much all in Spanish. There is a good amount of writing for homework but as long as you do it, you get full credit for it. There is a lot of conversation and she calls on you if you don't talk much. The class material wasn't necessarily difficult, but she assigns lots of homework and will assign homework on topics before teaching them, which can make homework difficult and confusing and can lead to poor homework grades. She is nice, accessible outside of class, & willing to reexplain concepts during office hours. Authentic Spanish Grammar was a difficult class b/c the material was high-level & could be complicated, plus there were a lot of assignments, essay, videos, & readings, but tbh I didn't read everything & still did fine. I am a bioengineering student.... this woman is more organized, more professional, and altogether a better teacher than anyone I've ever had in the STEM departments of northeastern. Her special topics spanish classes are hybrid classes, so half online half in person. Her RISE lectures are super detailed & contain a lot of links & videos. You definitely learn a lot of material but it's a project-based class so no tests or memorization. Do not listen to comments that say that she gives too much homework!! This was the BEST SPANISH CLASS AT NORTHEASTERN. I cant even tell you how much I learned, the flip classroom is great and there are so many assignments that nothing will kill your grade. Here's the thing: she's nice, in class is easy, and discussions aren't hard. What's hard is the fact that there is a ton of homework and reading due every class, which sucks the fun out of Spanish.
