Prof Brown is great. As long as you do the work with effort you will pass. He takes a while to give back work but states this at the beginning of the sem so nothing is unexpected. Straightforward course and discussions made heavy readings easier to understand. If you do the work this should be a smooth class.pols3435 2025-12-19 18:48:53 +0000 UTC
Prof Brown is a great teacher. The course itself I took with him had boring content, but he was very nice and friendly and I learned a good amount. Also very generous with grading, literally just go to class and do the work and you'll be finePOLS2399 2025-12-18 00:12:44 +0000 UTC
So sweet and kind, but don't take his class! He is so disorganized, i feel like even he doesn't know what is going on sometimes. he is very smart just a bad professor. literally never graded anything until thanksgiving break, meaning u would never get feedback for the following thing due. never stuck to syllabus, cancelled class all the time, etcPOLS2359 2025-11-21 22:03:04 +0000 UTC
I thought he was a very personable and caring teacher. Sometimes his lectures were very text-heavy, but other times we would have fun activities. Super easy class, would recommend!POLS1160 2025-11-18 16:40:49 +0000 UTC
Overall an amazing professor. Extremely kind and understanding. Exams and quizzes are all online and open-note. All assignments (including quizzes and midterms) have automatic extensions. Easy A if you do all the work.POLS1155 2025-01-20 05:50:45 +0000 UTC
I loved Professor Brown's class, I think he's passionate about what he teaches and integrated a lot of his own experiences and research into his lectures. The only thing is he did not post any of his lecture slides online, but if you pay attention to what he says and take notes it'll be fine. Also, the readings did depend on other group membersPOLS1150 2020-11-17 21:43:17 +0000 UTC
He clearly knows alot about what he is teaching and was able to convey it very well, lecture are very engaging and he doesnt flex his knowledge on you. Very caring and accessible outside of class. Amongst the best professors you can find. The only negative thing would be that he doesnt use powerpoints and instead uses the blackboardPOS1155 2020-10-26 17:07:49 +0000 UTC
Colin is a very chill guy, he cares about his students and checks in if you're not in class a few times. all his quizzes/tests are open everything. lectures could get realllly dull sometimes, he just talks at you a lot and research methods isn't the most exciting class. but he's a great guy and really passionate about his subjectsPOLS2399 2024-05-14 22:51:00 +0000 UTC
Dr. Brown is the best prof. I've had at Northeastern. Amazing, down-to-earth guy who allows all viewpoints in class, which is hard to come by here. You definitely should take him, even if not for this class, for another.POLS2359 2025-04-15 15:22:36 +0000 UTC
Very good professor, he's genuinely interested in what he's teaching and is very understanding. Big perk is that if he's wrong or doesn't understand something he won't talk out his butt, if you have a question or comment he takes it seriously and listens to you. Will definitely take again, and even switched to a combined major in political science.POLS1160 2023-06-21 17:46:55 +0000 UTC
He is friendly and likeable. Online open-book tests, even final and midterm. Likes European politics. Liberal, pro-democracy bent. Sang a broadway song in class once.POLS1155 2024-12-04 18:59:53 +0000 UTC
Prof Brown is great. If ur thinking ab taking research methods in poli sci make ur life easier and take it with him. The main grades in the class are a midterm, group projects, and a final quiz. v straightforward class and he's such a nice guy.POLS2399 2023-04-02 18:55:50 +0000 UTC
This class was really easy in terms of how he grades, but is really time consuming due to the large amount of papers and long readings. And you actually need to do the readings and be prepared to talk about them in class. His lectures were sometimes dry, but he's a really nice and chill professor who cares about his students.POLS2359 2022-05-16 21:26:39 +0000 UTC
Professor Brown was very interesting. Honestly, the hardest part of his class was the quizzes only because the TA was not consistent in grading. All the quizzes and tests were taken home, online, and with open notes. Attendance was taken but as long as you didn't miss often they didn't care. Had a Zoom option to listen in. Overall very chill class.POLS1160 2023-05-04 00:40:31 +0000 UTC
This professor made the course interesting and engaging in a subject I did not previously think I would like. He confirmed to me I wanted to be a political science major. One of the best POLS professors and the course is not hard as long as you talk in class and put in some time on the paper.POLS1155 2024-11-20 19:18:52 +0000 UTC
