I really enjoyed my class with Professor Aldrich. The workload and grading were fair and it is obvious that he makes an extra effort to provide a variety of interesting course materials. I was on Professor Aldrich's dialogue this past summer and it was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Even though I had little background doing research, he made the work approachable and interesting. I took East Asian Politics from professor Aldrich, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Hes an amazing professor, one of my favorites Ive had. He strikes a fantastic balance between leading classes himself, and allowing students to lead discussions. Whenever I did talk to him he always gave great feedback and inspired me to do better on every subsequent assignment. Professor Aldrich is a fantastic professor. This class is reading heavy and attendance and participation is mandatory, but all of the work is worth it. The chosen units are very interesting and cover a wide range of issues related to East Asian Politics. Professor Aldrich is so encouraging, knowledgeable and fun. Really enjoyed the class was a cool strcuture. Lots of reading but he makes it easy with reading questions. One paper which is worked on throughout the semester.
