Great prof & great class. Grades are a big paper, a small paper, participation, and final exam. Lots of reading but you can skim. Really amazing guest speakers. Urman is SUPER smart, funny, and respectful. Def only take if you are actually interested in law.LPSC3307 2024-04-27 20:05:56 +0000 UTC
Professor Urman is super smart and funny. Very lecture heavy class and theres a lot of outside reading. Theres no rubric for any of the assignments so you have no clue what grade youre gonna get. He also gives very little feedback and can be a little unfriendly when you ask for clarification.LPSC2301 2021-12-20 21:33:44 +0000 UTC
Prof. Urman is a condescending, arrogant lecturer. If you don't agree with his beliefs he certainly will make it known that he does not like you. It is difficult to take a class that is loaded with such slanted views. A professor should educate, not belittle. Don't take this course if you value your cognitive autonomy.POLS3302 2020-04-15 22:25:33 +0000 UTC
Prof. Urman's humor often falls flat and he makes jokes about his students that made me not want to speak up and risk being wrong-- but it's required. Rules are strict, and there's a lot of reading and assignments. Tests are fair. Not a fan of his attempt at dry humor. Class was stressful and uninteresting due to his teaching style.LPSC1101 2020-04-01 15:28:11 +0000 UTC
Hands down the best professor I've ever had. Professor Urman has forever changed the way I view law. If you're interested in law, you'll never feel like you are working in this class! Long lectures but amazing none the less. I'd recommend this class to anyone interested!POLS1101 2018-11-01 15:34:41 +0000 UTC
Professor Urman is a life changer. You will work hard but will leave the semester with a tremendous amount gained. You not only learn about POLS but LIFE! He opened my eyes to so much that Ill take with my for years to come. Urman is brilliant and always willing to help and mentor. Oh and hes hysterical. Best professor at NU hands down.POL1150 2018-03-19 22:56:31 +0000 UTC
Some people should not teach and this prof is a leading example. He is condescending and does use majority of the class time to boast about himself. As far as course material, I have learned more about the Supreme Court from documentaries.LPSC3301 2018-01-01 18:57:28 +0000 UTC
Professor Urman is by far the best Professor I have ever had at Northeastern. Don't enroll if you're looking to coast. I've learned a tremendous amount-more than I expected from taking his classes and I am substantially more prepared for college, grad school, and life entirely. Students who dislike him typically dont do the workPOLS1150 2013-05-28 12:43:25 +0000 UTC
The first day of class I was seriously put off by this professor. He came off as condescending and egotistical. A week later my opinion was entirely different... sure he demands a lot from his students, but if you pay attention you learn a lot. Lectures are always interesting (he's funny) and it became my favorite class.POLS1104 2012-01-30 10:59:37 +0000 UTC
It was an online class so he did not teach at all just read power points in 10 min. He is the worst prof ever. He treats students impolitely. He is obsessed with grammar and language mistakes he does not care about the content.Do not take his class if you are international because none of the international got better than BPOLS7367 2011-06-17 13:37:56 +0000 UTC
Only take this class if you want to go into law. Around 50 pages of reading for each class, definitely a heavy load. You will learn a lot but its a very demanding class. No technology allowed, must write notes on paper. Fair but challenging assignments. He is a charismatic, intelligent guy. Often had guest speakers who were great!LPSC3307 2024-02-04 23:20:20 +0000 UTC
Fantastic lecturer and super into his class but he's the hardest grader. He's also very accessible but his feedback isn't great and he's very vague then gives bad grades even after he knows you've tried really hard.LPSC2301 2020-12-18 21:34:11 +0000 UTC
If you are willing to do the work, you will love this class and will gain much from it. Professor Urman is a straight shooter, always willing to spend time with you and readily accessible. He has a way of connecting anything and everything to a current culture event, its brilliant. Great Professor.POLS3302 2018-03-19 23:02:15 +0000 UTC
One of the best professors I've had at Northeastern so far. The reading load is heavy but lectures are interesting. He makes the material fun and has a lot of humor. As long as you go to class and do the readings you'll do fine!LPSC1101 2018-04-18 13:52:49 +0000 UTC
Very condescending to his students and treats an entry level 100 course as if it's a graduate class. Attending class is mandatory as he gives pop quizzes based on previous classes/the NY times. If you are late by less than even a minute you'll automatically be on his bad list tPOLS1101 2011-11-16 10:19:59 +0000 UTC
