Nice person, but an extremely dry lecturer and does not teach well. She barely explains concepts in class, and spends the entire time explaining complex concepts we were rarely tested on. A very lecture-heavy course, but she expects that everyone learns most of the information out of class. She is also a very specific grader and very particular about following her guidelines exactly. Prof Soule is kind and enjoys what she teaches. Unfortunately she does not know how to teach undergraduate students business statistics. She rarely does examples in class, you have to figure everything out by yourself, is unclear, and if you arent an expert with excel youre in major trouble. She is an okay teacher (despite what other reviews said), and I I thought she was nice. Although I will say she almost never gives As on stuff (always something silly like 3.8 out of 4) and her lectures are not engaging, but overall the class is fine. I don't understand all the bad ratings. She gave one take-home exam with a clear grading format, lots of individual work, and no final. The only thing was that she gave us one in-person proctored exam, but she gave us a study guide and lots of materials with open notes. The content of this class is not of personal interest which might have influenced my rating, but the lectures are confusing with weirdly organized slides and she has an irrelevant assignment every class for each table group. Do not listen to any of these reviews. This class is minimal work and prof is so sweet. It is extremely hard to do bad in this class. Both tests are online. The only thing that may affect your grade are the HW analysis but it is just really hard to get an A. With that being said I have not received lower than a B on one. Lots of small writing assignments, and you need to make sure to specifically follow her writing format. (Bullet points only, no big paragraphs). Lectures were overall not super interesting, and there was a lot of groupwork throughout the class.
