His lectures are optional and his zooms every lecture, but I tried attending most of his lectures. He tries to make lectures fun by adding jokes but it is still pretty dry. But I feel like he explains the concept well. He gives a lot of homework assignments. His tests are like the HW but harder.ECON1116 2025-05-14 11:48:10 +0000 UTC
would take professor georges again for any economics class. he genuinely cares about his students and gives such great feedback. exams are exactly like practice problems so put in the work and you'll definitely get an A!ECON3490 2024-05-06 08:05:49 +0000 UTC
If u genuinely want to learn then i would not recommend this class. lectures are super boring and monotone. but homework and assignments are easy. its an easy A. tests and quizes are online but in class. he doesnt care about attendance i barely went. super understanding professor and reachable outside class. If u want a GPA boast take this classECON1126 2024-04-21 23:43:03 +0000 UTC
ECON 5105. Not recommended if you have not been exposed to the math topics (linear, calc3, stats.) You will be overwhelmed. does a great job attempting to condense the info for a 1 sem course, but it's best taken only if you are STRONGLY considering Econ grad school. weekly HW, no exams. Took half remotely, half in person - dry lectures but fine.ECON4316 2023-12-06 21:00:02 +0000 UTC
Professor Geroges is a pretty good professor for entry level economics. His lectures are a little monotonous but he will cover everything that you are tested in his lectures. He wants everyone to succeed and is very understanding and will give you a few days to complete online tests, will drop your lowest grade, and will go over quizzes in class.ECON116 2021-12-08 18:54:26 +0000 UTC
Very nice and caring professor. Attendance is not mandatory and he records the lectures live on Zoom and puts the recordings on Canvas, so the class can basically be taken without ever stepping foot into a lecture. However, tests are in-person so make sure you go to thoseECON1116 2025-05-07 23:32:44 +0000 UTC
Prof Georges is a nice guy, but public choice econ is the biggest waste of time ever. Can't believe I spent $8k of my money on this BS of a course. I'm sure the prof even agrees at how dumb this content is, all you do is learn about different methods by which election winners are chosen. And trust me, there's a lot, so you can read the book foreverECON3490 2024-02-09 22:25:26 +0000 UTC
Prof Georges is very nice but terribly boring. Everything you need to know is on the slides, lectures are very long/bland, and you definitely dont need to go to class to do well. Exams are multiple choice with a few basic math calculations.ECON1126 2021-12-14 03:21:21 +0000 UTC
Don't you dare take this man. An easy A at the cost of paying $6000 (or the opportunity to take a class on scholarship) and being treated like a 7th grader on a good day. Clearly doesn't prepare and is not ready for any questions. Beware.ECON4316 2017-11-14 16:39:36 +0000 UTC
I was in a class with 200+ students so I would recommend going to office hours if you need assistance. My TA with recitation did not know a lot and did not help me once so I attended office hours and Professor Georges assisted very well. I would take him again however the lectures are boring because he just reads right off the slides.ECON1116 2025-04-30 18:30:44 +0000 UTC
Professor Georges is an extremely chill professor and will give you every opportunity to get a good grade. The lectures can be a bit dry, but he does have a sense of humor that shows every once in a while. Textbook is important, but he really gives you a chance to get a good grade. Knows the material well too so if you're interested you can learn.ECON3490 2023-04-19 17:37:23 +0000 UTC
An amazing professor. You never have to come to class for lectures, but the exams are always in class with a shorter take-home portion. Once a week we are assigned a lot of homework with a lot of questions, many multi-part. It is still manageable, just start early and do a few problems a day. The class is pretty easy, I would recommend.ECON1116 2025-04-28 21:27:00 +0000 UTC
He's such a kingECON1116 2025-04-28 20:00:44 +0000 UTC
he's a sweet guy. lectures are boring, way too dense & so much fluff. however, he records & zooms lectures and tests are 1/2 in person, 1/2 at home. easy A.ECON1116 2025-04-27 17:27:54 +0000 UTC
Professor Georges really cares about his students and wants the best for them. He was always available outside of class for help and he was very lenient with deadlines. Bless this man, I really learned a lot about Economics from him and although I rarely went to class as long as you keep up with the textbook and homework, it should be easy!ECON1116 2025-04-23 03:38:46 +0000 UTC
