The best professor ever! Decided to minor in Economics because of Prof. Stone.ECON3424 2026-01-13 13:26:54 +0000 UTC
While I am not the best at econ, I studied very hard for this class and I feel that his class was extremely test heavy; thus, not a fair representation of my mastery of the class. Taking it online made it extremely harder as it was difficult to reach both the TA and professor for help, so it was a very independent-type class. Good luck!!ECON1116 2024-06-26 03:05:36 +0000 UTC
Michael Stone is a great lecturer and he's very interesting to listen to. The workload is minimal and if you study for the tests then you should be fine. Attendance isn't mandatory but I strongly suggest going if you want to learn.1116 2024-04-25 15:19:49 +0000 UTC
Professor Stone explained the concepts well. There were only 3 tests; in order to get an A, you have to do well on each exam with minimal room for error. The tests weren't abnormally difficult and reflected what he taught in class. But, you definitely need to study and complete a plethora of practise problems in order to succeed on the exams.ECON111603 2021-12-20 07:22:47 +0000 UTC
Professor Stone made really engaging lectures which made it easy to understand the material. I was in a very big class so exams were one of the only sources of grading we had, making the class really test heavy. However, if you paid attention in class or looked at his lecture slides it was very easy to do wellECON116 2020-09-03 21:37:58 +0000 UTC
GREAT PROFESSOR. i can speak on behalf of all the 40 students in his class that he is a solid professor. he knows his materials, makes sure he repeats stuff often so everyone understands. only had a few homework and the tests are doable as long as u read his slides. highly recommend Stone!!!ECON3414 2018-04-05 18:27:11 +0000 UTC
Mr. Stone was a very good and supportive teacher, one of the most inspirational economics professors I've had. Class discussions were fun and if a student struggled, he was always willing to help and explain it over and over again. He is very fair in grading and he is super friendly. Class materials are uploaded on power point and straight forwardECON 2015-04-15 14:47:09 +0000 UTC
Mr Stone is what you want in a professor. He's very thorough with the material, and covers so much in his slides that you don't need to buy the textbook. Online homeworks are hard but allow for infinite amount of attempts. Two midterms and one final that is NOT cumulative. Brilliant teacher who may not be easy but its certainly possible to get A's2316 2014-11-19 23:50:46 +0000 UTC
Prof Stone is actually the best. His classes aren't mandatory but his teaching style and the fact that you actually learn so much from them, as well as his personality and engagement make you want to go. Still a relatively difficult class but he is so helpful and all exams were online.ECON3424 2025-12-11 02:38:53 +0000 UTC
Hands down the best professor I've ever had. He is clearly ridiculously smart and he's just so passionate and enthusiastic and his lectures are amazing. He does a great job breaking down the tough concepts, moving at a good pace, and including interesting/funny real-world examples. Literally joined rate my professor just to recommend him!ECON1116 2024-05-01 02:52:03 +0000 UTC
This class was great for an intro to econ. His lectures were not mandatory, and you could just look at his slides if you miss class. No need to read the textbook, which was nice. Makes lectures as interesting as they can be!1116 2024-04-11 18:38:34 +0000 UTC
Professor Stone is awesome! By far the best professor I've had at Northeastern. This is a very interesting class, but it is not easy. If you pay attention to the lecture and do all the homework you will be fine!ECON3424 2024-04-29 17:57:44 +0000 UTC
Great Lecturer, easy class and easy tests just make sure to show up to classes and do lots of mind tap. Also may give a curve at the end for final grade.ECON1116 2024-04-30 18:37:21 +0000 UTC
He is a very kind Professor. Lectures go on a lot of tangents so it can be difficult to follow most of the time. I studied very hard for each test and still would not do well. For a 1000 level class, it is very difficult, I suggest taking another Professor.1116 2023-05-10 18:40:32 +0000 UTC
There's not much to say about prof Stone that has not been said. This guy should be a public speaker. He is so emotive and interesting to listen to. Every class became a conversation where you really got to learn beyond just the lectures. Easily the best professor I've had. Great guy who I can't speak highly enough. Make sure you pay attention thoECON3424 2023-04-21 03:27:37 +0000 UTC
