A very nice lady, teaches effectively & makes learning fun. Material is relatively easy. Take her class!ECON1115 2026-01-22 18:12:03 +0000 UTC
Very kind professor and great course. Yes, there are quite a few homework assignments and 5 exams, but nothing too hard. Content is very understandable and class is quite easy. Would definitely recommend.ECON1116 2025-12-02 22:46:10 +0000 UTC
Lectures were a bit all over the place. Textbook reading is unavoidable as there are quizzes on the reading every class (they're easy though as long as you did the reading). When writing the essays, it's best to attend office hours to make sure you're going in the right direction. Class was really interesting at times but overall a little boring.ECON3470 2025-04-28 07:05:49 +0000 UTC
She is nice professor, but her classes don't really help with tests. She usually grades assignments at long intervals, which makes me confused about grades.ECON1916 2024-04-22 23:45:52 +0000 UTC
Second time taking her, have taken Conflict Ec 1916 and now American Econ History 3470. In 3470, we had 3 papers about one long book (800pgs), Ages of American Capitalism by Levy. Late grader. Class is very participation based; you teach a few chapters of the book for a week as a group. Fair grade. She loves what she teaches.ECON2315 2022-12-21 04:24:33 +0000 UTC
I don't know why this professor got such bad reviews, she's entertaining, kind, caring, responsive, and easy grader. There are reading, graded outlines and 3-4 test units but the concepts is so easy to understand it's really not stressful at all. I don't think the in person lectures add anything to the textbook but she gives detailed explanations.1916 2022-11-09 15:15:51 +0000 UTC
This is a terrible class to take online. I've never met the professor or directly interacted with her, and I'm pretty sure it's the same for everyone else in the class. There is a ridiculous amount of reading every week, too many exams, and the group project is such a pain.ECON1125 2020-12-15 21:16:50 +0000 UTC
Professor Dupree is very nice and caring. Her lectures are easy to understand and she makes sure students are really thinking about the material. However, her voice can be a little too good at putting you to sleep. Her lectures are all recorded, so most people skip often, and her test are all take-home and open note. TAKE HER CLASS.ECON1115 2026-01-22 18:10:03 +0000 UTC
So far, definitely the most useless class and professor I've had at Northeastern. Professor sets her things up for 10-15 mins each day while we sit in complete silence and do nothing. Her teaching is poor, takes very long to explain concepts, and doesn't really do any in-class examples to prepare for the test. Would not recommendECON1116 2022-10-05 20:00:57 +0000 UTC
i loved prof dupree's class! the whole semester for american econ history was based on 1 book, and we covered 2 chapters a week. discussions are student-led and very engaging! short reading quizzes every class made by students, and total of 4 papers throughout the sem (1 paper per book section). very understanding and lenient grader!ECON3470 2024-05-08 02:20:24 +0000 UTC
Definitely the easiest macro theory class as it is not quantitative heavy at all. Make friends with the smartest kids in the class because she lets you do homeworks and exams together (Exams are take home). Also get a tutor for the exams. Not sure how much I ended up learning through this method but she is a very nice professor and is very caring.ECON2315 2019-12-16 21:07:47 +0000 UTC
Her class is pretty okay if you read the textbook, but I barely learned anything. Literally no interaction with the student.. way too much homework sometimes...ECON1125 2020-12-11 20:26:20 +0000 UTC
Prof Dupree is super straight-forward with all of her assignments and exams which makes it easy to do well in this class. Very understanding professor and overall a chill class!ECON1115 2026-01-07 03:06:30 +0000 UTC
Took Conflict Econ 1916. Hard material, not recommended as first econ course. Gave make up exams. IMO lectures too slow for content. Great TA Roy.ECON1116 2022-05-17 17:14:32 +0000 UTC
Prof. Dupree is great! She's super funny and amusing tbh. She really knows what she's talking about, but might overlook the fact that the students do not so be sure to ask questions. All assignmentsincluding midterm and finalsare online so it's fairly easy to get a good grade. Just read the power points, show up to class, and do your work.ECON2315 2018-10-28 15:53:47 +0000 UTC
